I’m not going to lie I thought this episode was going to be funny. How could it not when you had Castiel wanting to be a hunter? Sadly though it didn’t really live up to the hype. It was a solid episode though that revealed more about Sam’s state of mind as well as Castiel’s.

Also Dean got to indulge in his love for cartoons.

Arrow this week decided to focus on the characters rather than hunting down the bad guy and it paid dividends, particularly with the introduction of the Huntress. As Starling City’s finest brace themselves for a mob war, the Bertinelli and Queen families find themselves intertwined.

Also John Barrowman gets a name!

Clearly the episode title is prophetic for this week’s episode. In our world of Bravermans, only a handful of people had their requests answered positively this week. And in a change of pace, very little of the rest was resolved, as we set the stories (in addition to cancer) that will bring us into the final few episodes of the season.

You’d think with a week of from the heaviness that is Kristina’s breast cancer storyline, we’d maybe have a lighter emotional outing. But not for our favorite family. With a central theme of work-related sagas, the light-hearted moments were near nil this hour.

Welcome to this weeks episode of Sons of Anarchy. This week marks the episode before the finale. This is destined to be a crazy and wonderful ride. After last week, we have no idea what direction that Kurt is going to take with this. There are so many open avenues that they are going to be able to take to close, or leave open for next season.

Last week we saw how far Gemma is willing to go to try and get back into her sons life. Even though she is in love with Nero, she continues to move forward with all of the things she needs to get the information from Clay. Jax has managed to almost get the club out of everything that was about to kill them, all that he has left to deal with is attempting to get Clay out of the club so that he can kill him. Lets see how this week goes.

Jess throws a celebratory 5th year anniversary party for her friends, but Schmidt sort of ruins it by loudly narrating foreplay with his boss. (I think it’s funny that Cece knows what’s going on and warns everyone to cover their ears.) It’s sort of an awkward moment, but her friends have big news: they are pregnant. It makes Jess take a step back and reevaluate her position in life. She decides to take a fertility test.

Winston, meanwhile, is doing really well with his radio show, which motivates Nick to start writing his zombie novel. (He drags Winston off a Hemmingway-esque adventure. At the zoo. While drunk.)

AMC Greenlights Drama Pilots “Halt & Catch Fire” and “Turn”

two new dramas

AMC announced today pilot orders for scripted dramas “Halt & Catch Fire” and “Turn.” Production on both is scheduled for 2013. This announcement comes on the heels of the network’s last round of pilot orders for “Low Winter Sun” and the “Untitled LaGravenese/Tony Goldwyn project,” both of which recently completed production.

“These additional pilot orders demonstrate AMC’s investment in our original scripted programming,” said Susie Fitzgerald, AMC’s SVP of scripted development and current programming. “Both of these projects take the audience into unique worlds through compelling characters told with an original voice. We are so fortunate to be working with such exceptional talent on both of these projects.”

TwoCents and Five Questions with The New Normal Cast

are you digging the new normal?

Justin Bartha, Andrew Rannells, & Georgia King, Actors

The New Normal stars three very enigmatic actors who all come from different backgrounds. Andrew Rannells (Bryan) has a history of voice-overs, but was plucked from the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon. Aside from his role on Normal, he also has a recurring role on HBO’s Girls. Justin Bartha (David), most recently of the Hangover movies, is experiencing his first foray into television since Teachers in 2006. And Georgia King (Goldie), who is actually Scottish, is the only one who was found through a search for the perfect Goldie. She has had plenty of experience in British film and television. The three of them together made for an interesting interview. Please enjoy!

TheTwoCents: Do you think the show reflects a reality that wasn’t always addressed on television until fairly recently?

TwoCents and Five Questions with Ali Adler (The New Normal)

will she stay normal?

Ali Adler, Executive Producer

Ali Adler has been an Executive Producer on a few great shows in recent years, including Chuck (Oh, how we miss you!), No Ordinary Family, and Glee. She also wrote for these shows. Ryan Murphy obviously took a shine to her and together they created, produce, and write The New Normal. The show is about a young woman, Goldie (Georgia King), who becomes the surrogate mother for a yuppie gay couple, Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha). Then we have the surrounding characters: Shania (Bebe Wood), Goldie’s “older than her years” daughter, Rocky (Nene Leakes), Bryan’s opinionated assistant, and Jane (Ellen Barkin), Goldie’s very prejudiced and outspoken grandmother. Together you would think they’d make a very funny show. I think they do, mostly. Read on to see what Ali thinks.

TheTwoCents: How involved were you in the casting for the show?
