Under_the_Dome_title_screenUNDER THE DOME, television’s #1 summer series in viewers and key demographics, will return in summer 2014 with 13 new episodes, it was announced today by Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.

Stephen King, whose bestselling novel is the basis for the series, will write the premiere episode of the second season.

“We’re excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester’s Mill, and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season,” said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.

It tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. We’re nearly at the halfway point of Dexter’s final season. And I have to be honest, I am at a complete loss for what the final end game will be.

Are we looking to have resolution to Dexter and Deb’s fractured relationship? Are we looking to see one or more of the Morgan siblings dead or in jail? Or is there something completely out of left field coming our way?

Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced that the network has picked up a second season of the original series, “Black Sails” from executive producer Michael Bay in advance of its first season premiere. The announcement comes on the heels of the exclusive fan screening at San Diego Comic-Con several months in advance of its on-air premiere in January, 2014. The eight-episode first season of the authentic pirate adventure centers on the tales of Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his men, and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “Treasure Island.”

“Black Sails” is executive produced by Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor) and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, producers on The Purge and currently in production on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The series was created by showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Steinberg (creator “Jericho,” “Human Target”) and Season Two executive producer Robert Levine (“Touch”).

Sorry for the lateness, but if there was an episode not to miss, it was this one. I’m pretty sure this show has got us all in pins and needles since it seems to have at least one major reveal every week. But then again, we are still learning about the house and its occupants. And this week we learn a lot more and about how sometimes you have to keep your secrets to yourself.

We pick up with Mike listening to Briggs talk at his narcotics anonymous meeting saying that his whole life is a lie. Ain’t that the truth.
