Dear TV Claus … From Jules

For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

I don’t ask for much, but I’d be so ever grateful if you’d be able to grant any of my TV wishes.

1. Now that The Office is ending, can you please let Angela and Dwight live happily ever after? They really completed each other.

2. So You Think You Can Dance season 9 did not work with the one show a week. Please, when it comes back for season 10, bring back the two episodes a week.

3. Please, please, get Monica Potter an Emmy nomination. Stat. She’s been amazing these past seasons, but she’s been stellar this season.

The Big Bang Theory – Recap & Review – The Fish Guts Displacement

The Big Bang Theory
The Isolation Permutation

Original Air Date: Dec 6, 2012

Kym – Senior Reviewer
kym@thetwocentscorp.com

Sheldon makes some interesting points this week about the things a spider can do that Spiderman can’t, ruining the cartoon’s theme song for him. Is it disturbing that I would find this an interesting conversation as well? Or is it more disturbing that I wanted to sing along with all three cartoon theme songs myself. I also love Raj’s idea for the movie theme – movies that killed their franchises. I can think of a few of them myself. But poor Howard has to go have dinner with the in-laws and can’t join them. That’s always interesting. I guess we find out this week if her Dad’s opinion of him has improved now that he’s been to space.

Oh, and Sheldon’s going to a memorial service with Amy. Oh dear. It’s not usually recommended to try to put the “fun in funeral”.

As we well know, a bored Sherlock is an unhappy Sherlock, so when our unlucky detective gets the flu he refuses to give in and rest and instead keeps on working, and in a stellarly interesting sweater.  Sometimes I wonder where Holmes gets his grandpa sweaters/puffy vests.  I think someone (Mycroft?) must order them en masse from the LL Bean catalog.

While looking sharp and horribly ill, Holmes heads to the scene of a crime where an Asian studies professor named Anunzio has been shot through his eyes.  Holmes and Gregson check out the prof’s office and notice that like his apartment and his phone number, it contains the number 13.   This leads Holmes to figure out he was into Chinese gambling, which sounds like something I don’t really ever want to be into.

The Office – Recap & Review – Dwight’s Christmas

The Office
Dwight Christmas

Original Air Date: Dec 6, 2012

Shannon – Associate Editor
shannon@thetwocentscorp.com

Angela drops the ball on the Christmas party planning and everyone is angry. Phyllis actually knew but no one asked her to help plan it so she didn’t say anything. Everyone throws out ideas. Nellie suggests they get some booze and mini cupcakes. Kevin says mini cupcakes are stupid because they’re a mini version of a cupcake which is already a mini version of cake. Excellent point, Kevin. I think that’s the smartest thing you’ve ever said.

Dwight suggests Pennsylvania Dutch Christmas. Jim is all for it for the comedic potential but Angela calls an emergency party planning meeting. Pam convinces the committee into letting Dwight do the party.

I shouldn’t be happy when a contestant is cut from the show. But I still couldn’t help doing a happy dance when they announced the name of the first singer leaving the show this week.

Yes, despite the fact that Demi wore leopard spots in support of her last contestant in the competition, Cece Frey had to say goodbye.

Dear TV Claus … From Farrah

For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV higher power that watches over my cable box:

TV this year has been pretty solid, despite the fact a few of my favorites were canceled. That being said, here are a few of my TV wishes for the coming year:

1) Thank you for “Dont Trust the B—-.” Although I fear the same issue will happen with Cougar Town due to the title, I love overly dramatic James VDB (and how funny was it that they took the “Sexiest Man Alive” idea from the show and reinacted it in the actual People magazine?!) and the rest of the cast. Please keep it around.

2) I’m not happy with the cancelation of Partners. If only they had chosen a different leading lady (I love Sophia Bush, but she wasn’t ready for comedy after nine season of One Tree Hill). I hope that two of my favorite leading men – Michael Urie and David Krumholtz – find something again … quickly!

Burn Notice
Best Laid Plans

Original Air Date: Dec 6, 2012

Alyssa – Staff Writer
alyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry, and go awry they did in this episode. At its base Burn Notice is essentially about the characters getting themselves out of unpredictable situations with their wits and instincts.

Best Laid Plans did that just fine.
