FBI Agent Tobias Fornell is at the drive thru after a long day at work when a mysterious stranger walks up to him and shoots him through the windscreen. Thank goodness he was still wearing his vest, so Fornell shoots back and kills his attacker. Later, Gibbs turns up at the scene and Fornell thanks him for coming. Gibbs teases that he had no choice. The killer was Navy.

The killer was found with a matchbook on him with the description and license plate of Fornell’s car. It was a hit, but at least the killer was helpful enough to write it down on something that would provide a lead in the investigation. Gibbs and Fornell check out the bar the matchbook was from, have a drunken man explain that the killer was a rough bouncer for the bar… and then bump into their ex-wife, Diane Sterling!

Dear TV Claus … From Karen

For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

Ok, so you know I’ve been just a bit naughty and I am sorry, but I try…I really do. If you can…my list is short and I hope you can help a gal out.

1. Thank you so much for inspiring the Covert Affairs writers to give me that wonderful kiss in the season’s finale. Now if you can make sure they don’t muck it up and ruin the show like many before it when the guy and gal get together. Please help them keep it fresh.

2. Can Someone in America come up with a good show and have David Tennant as the star. He wants to come here and I want him to come here so let’s get it done!

Parenthood
What to My Wondering Eyes

Original Air Date: Dec 11, 2012

Jules – News Editor

Tonight was Parenthood’s first Christmas episode! It’s taken them four seasons, but it’s here and it did not disappoint. It was as emotional and crazy as I had hoped for and more.

The previews prepared me, but I was still not ready for this episode. If there was ever an emotional holiday episode from a series on TV, it would come from this show. And after a week off from Kristina, her story came back in force this week.

Obligatory Holiday Episode here we go!

Jess, Nick, Schmidt and Winston find out that they only have one night together before they all go their separate way for Christmas – specifically with Nick leaving to be with his family, once again leaving on a cheap red eye flight. Jess decides that they should all go to as many parties as they can.

Almost the whole time, Winston has a cranberry stuck in his ear. It’s mildly funny in the one place where it serves a purpose – I’ll get to that later – but I want to get up on a soapbox and complain about how every other character in this episode got to deal with a major relationship thing while Winston gets the throw away gag. I really don’t feel it’s fair for him not to get enough screentime or plotlines that are complicated and helpful to his character. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Private Practice
I’m Fine

Original Air Date: Dec 11, 2012

This hour we were treated to Private Practice: SVU. We were also given an hour of Private Practice: Nicholas Sparks. Yes, that’s right, two episodes in one! And the lead character in both was Sheldon Wallace.

We’re continuing with Shonda Rhimes’ experiment of character-focused episodes. And while the hour wasn’t horrible, I think it lacked a bit of oomph following Cooper’s hour and the anticipation of next week’s Charlotte hour. Because what it all boils down to is… Sheldon is a supporting character.

Dear TV Claus … From Shannon

For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

Look, I’m not even going to pretend I’ve been good this year. You know what’s up. I would like to say that incident with the fire extinguisher was not my fault, so hopefully you’ll take that into consideration and grant my wishes.

-Please don’t let Community die. Please.

-Please don’t let Parks And Recreation go the way of The Office after Leslie and Ben get married.

-Speaking of The Office, I wish for a satisfying ending. I’m not saying there has to be a Michael Scott cameo, but please let the final episode not be stupid.
