According to the Vancouver, BC Police Department, Glee actor Cory Monteith died Saturday. He was 31.
Monteith is known to TV watchers as popular football jock, turned glee club singer Finn Hudson on the Fox series since its debut in 2009. For his role on the show, Monteith along with the Glee cast won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Comedy Series Ensemble in 2010. Monteith also won a 2011 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Actor Comedy.
Before getting his big break on Glee, the Canadian born Monteith had a recurring role in the ABC Family series Kyle XY. He also made guest appearances in Canadian-filmed television serials as Smallville, Supernatural, Flash Gordon, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
