If you missed this episode, you missed a good one! The Squint Squad scrambles to get everyone out of the lab and jump into Hazmat suits, as a fast decaying body from a biohazard facility is brought in with an unknown virus. They need to know who she is and where the disease was contracted.

This has to be one of the better episodes of Bones that I’ve seen in a while and a powerful performance by Tamara Taylor as Cam; I’ll tell you why, later in the review.

As Bones examines the body she questions: Could bio-terrorism be what this is all about? Booth and Brennan race to find the culprit. With some fun bantering between Angela and Temp, it is Temp that quickly finds who the victim is before Angela and her multi-million dollar machine.

My question to you, the viewers, is; would you have taken off the head-gear to your suit as quickly as they did, when they found out the virus was not airborne? Um, I don’t think so. But things go crazy bad when Arastoo is pricked in the finger by something sharp on the body when he tried to lift it. Now the virus has a fresh new playground to play in. But our brave Arastoo decides not to go to a hospital, but instead wants the squad to learn how the virus works, a guinea pig if you will. Cam freaks out a bit but keeps an eye on her lover throughout the episode. A very tense moment for Cam as she watches Arastoo’s heart rate climb at an alarming rate, but Cam gets it under control.

It was a sweet moment as Jack smiles at Temp when she helps him find a plant-based antidote. They finally do whip up a concoction just as Arastoo has about 4 hrs left to live. As poor Cam is giving a heartfelt talk to Arastoo, I could feel myself choking up…believe me that is something that rarely happens! The herbal remedies wanting to be used, causes an argument with the CDC guy, Dr Jacobs, and I knew the Squints would win, but it was fun to watch him back down. The remedy slowly brings Arastoo’s vitals down. Whew!

Then the best moment of the night happens as Booth drags in the guy with an antidote and pushes his face into the first carcass. Then he swiftly moves him to Arastoo, where Cam pleads with him to help the innocent victim. But when neither provokes a cure out of him, it is Bones that picks up a syringe and tells him it has the virus and slams it into his neck. Now you have to tell us the antidote! He complies. YOU GO BONES!!
No worries, I was actually disappointed to find out the virus really wasn’t in the syringe.

Arastoo is safe and everyone has a short moment to be grateful for all they have.

I give this ep 5 out of 5 stars!
Did you like this episode? How did you like Cam’s heart-wrenching talk? Leave me your twocents…

Loved the episode! Thought the remark by the doctor at the end to Booth being a “really lucky man” was creepy. Why would a stranger comment in such a personal way to people he does not know?

  2. karen says:

I think the doctor was saying that because he noticed how eveyone actually cared about each other/ co-workers and was a bit surprised. He saw how lucky Booth was to be involved with such a great group of people.
