Tonight is the results show for week five and “Dancing Side By Side” with the professionals. As time goes on, we see that the couples with the celebrities are doing so much better (for the most part). It is getting so much harder to tell who will be sent home each week. Who will be sent home tonight? We are about to find out!
We start off tonight’s show with a dance with more of an out of this world feel. It even looked as if they were dancing on another planet, possibly the moon from the look of the dance floor. I have to say I was not a huge fan of the music, the out of this world look or the dancing. What is your take on it? Did you like it? What was your favorite part, if you had one? If you didn’t like it, why not?
The encore dance for this week went to Jacoby & Karina, who will be dancing the Jive side by side with Maks & Anna. According to Len, it was a dream of Jacoby’s to do this dance. I personally think that they did a great job last night, especially with the jump that Jacoby did over Karina’s head (Jacoby made it looks like a piece of cake and cleared her Karina’s shoulders without using her shoulders for extra lift!!). What did you think of the encore dance? Was there anyone else you would have liked to see doing it (other than Aly & Mark who seem to be the favorite).
I loved seeing the video that was played tonight with Val, Maks and Zendaya. Maks, being the good big brother he is, was in charge of watching Val. He moaned and complained (I won’t use the wording he used here) about having to do it and what would happen with their Mama and Papa if either of them did not take care of the other. I love Maks and miss seeing him on Dancing With The Stars. I hope eventually he comes back. It would be awesome to see them both, just as we saw with Julianne and Derek before Julianne went off to chase a singing career.
A part of tonight’s entertainment came from The Band Perry. I have heard of The Band Perry before and I do like country music. However, I was not impressed with their music. I even found their lead singer way too overdressed compared to the rest of the band. She was in a gold colored dress that shimmered and frankly, looked like a present and not a dress, in my opinion.
We find out tonight that next week there will be a team dance. They will either be dancing to (Team Samba) “Superstition” or (Team Passo) “Higher Ground”. Both Kellie and Zendaya do not know what team dance they want to do, but Andy, if he is still here next week, wants to be a part of Kellie’s team. He made a joke of it. I do not want to repeat what was said, but think of their last names. Get it now? Even Tom said after sixteen seasons, he was speechless.
The Stars of Dance came next with a beautifully choreographed number. They danced to a woman named Kerli who I had never heard of before. She has a beautiful voice and did a wonderful job singing her song “Love Me Or Leave Me”. I will definitely look into checking her music out.
The final performer for tonight is Selena Gomez. It seems that with her new album coming out that she has been making the circuit this week. I have seen her on a lot of different daytime television shows. She is a wonderful singer and actress. As I was listening to her, it had me wondering. Has she gone solo or did she just drop the band name?

It was sad to see D.L. go home this evening. He got a standing ovation from the audience as well as the judges. However, after last night’s performance, it was time for him to go home. I didn’t see much improvement for him, at least enough for him to continue on as the competition got tougher. Did you? Are you happy to see him go home or would you like for him to have stayed on?
Tune in to Good Morning America tomorrow morning (probably in the eight o’clock hour) to see if D.L. & Cheryl will be on. Usually the couple voted off goes on to Good Morning America the following morning for an interview, but with the tragedy in Boston yesterday, that may not happen. I know this morning, when they would usually have guests in the eight o’clock hour, they did not.
Was the couple you were rooting for safe or were they one of the bottom three? Or were they the one to go home this evening? Time for your TwoCents!
Next week’s theme: Music of Stevie Wonder (He will be a guest of the show Monday AND Tuesday)
