Ryan is upset because Smokey Robinson is dead. Ryan can’t name more than one Smokey Robinson song and Pam calls him out on not really knowing who he is. Oscar says that the Smokey death thing is really a hoax. Jim says there’s a Smokey show soon and the tickets are $250. Ryan avoids by pretending to be disgusted at the opening act and the parking costs. Yeah. It’s just boring typing that out as it was to watch.
The Senator is holding a fundraiser tonight for the local animal shelter. Robert California bought two tables for the crew for the night. Angela thinks it’s going to be a huge sell out.
Dwight is upset because Andy (who was fired last week) is sitting in his car out in the parking lot. Everyone thinks he’s there to kill Robert or Nellie. Andy’s just there to pick up Erin for the fundraiser. Kevin thinks that will be very weird. And we all know Kevin is the expert in weird.
Andy’s writing a rock opera in his unemployment. Ryan thinks Andy’s having a breakdown. Then Meredith calls him a jabroni. Andy is embarrassing himself so Robert tells him he should leave. Andy wants to prove he’s fine so he purchases a whole table at the fundraiser.
The Senator gives Oscar his number and tells him he accepts calls after 9 pm. Oscar thinks his theory about the Senator is confirmed. He tells Jim and Pam what happened. Jim thinks Oscar was mistaken so he’s going to prove it by trying to get the Senator’s number himself. Later the Senator gives Meredith is number. Oscar is clearly disappointed until later the Senator gives Oscar a lingering rub down the arm.
Dwight has no idea how a silent auction works. He thinks you just guess the price of the prize and you win so he’s writing down all kinds of ridiculous numbers on the lists. His total for the evening is $34,000. Jim calls for a speech. Dwight gives one and then dashes out the door.
Andy runs into David Wallace who just sold a patent for 20 million. Whoa. Andy is in such an emotional crises he agrees to adopt all the dogs for the evening’s fundraiser. Everyone feigns support for Andy’s new dog adoption but Kevin is the only one willing to call Andy out. Andy admits that he’s not fine.
In between all of this stuff that really didn’t matter, Nellie eats a taco for the first time and it’s the single bright spot in the episode. She does it to try to bond with Daryl and it’s hilarious because she’s holding the shell up to her mouth and pushing the filling out into her mouth from the other end. So, seeing someone mutilate a taco was more interesting than anything else that happened in the show. That should tell you something. Leave your thoughts below!

DAVID WALLACE!!! That was the best part.
Seeing David Wallace was cool but there’s just something about seeing someone eat a taco wrong that does it for me.
