It’s Friday, Friday gotta get meet in the cafeteria on Friday. The group talks about their weekend plans. Troy and Abed are going to watch a special special edition of The Dark Knight. Behind them some loud German guys are playing Foosball. Jeff is annoyed and tells them off.
Annie cleans the apartment she shares with Troy and Abed and accidentally smashes their special edition copy of The Dark Knight. Troy says the disc is irreplaceable and they have to tell Abed. Annie wants to replace it with fake commentary but Troy says that Abed will know because he knows exactly how many sitcoms did the replace the broken item with a fake one shtick.
Shirley walks in on Jeff practicing foosball and says he doesn’t have to prove himself to a bunch of foreigners. Jeff says the truth is he used to love foosball but then he started getting bullied so he quit. Shirley says it’s good he quit because it’s a vile game for vile people. Jeff tells her she wouldn’t understand because it’s a guy thing and then Shirley proceeds to show him her sweet foosball skills and Jeff is thoroughly impressed. We don’t know Shirley’s life, guys. Jeff asks her to teach him what she knows and she agrees but is clearly uncomfortable because she thinks foosball is evil.
So, the next scene is probably the weirdest thing I’ve seen on tv lately. Shirley is schooling Jeff in foosball and she’s just getting into it and talking about how it’s kill or be killed and she and Jeff are yelling “KILL OR BE KILLED”. She calls him a turkey and it’s like Jeff is turned on and it’s just bizarre and I love it.
Abed is stoked about watching the video and when they get home Annie staged a robbery. The cop says there wasn’t any forced entry. Annie makes up a story about a stolen necklace and Abed feels there is something off. He deduces that the landlord did it.
The Germans challenge Jeff and Shirley to a foosball match. Shirley and Jeff talk about how she got into foosball over margaritas. She once made a boy pee his pants during a match because she was so into foosball that it made her a horrible person. Oh guess what? Jeff was the boy. They have it out on the foosball table. There is more yelling and it switches to an anime cartoon and it is incredibly awesome. The ball gets stuck in the middle and they are at an impasse. The apologize and make up. The play the match with the Germans and leave the ball stuck in the middle. Jeff and Shirley go to a movie, arm in arm.
Abed dons his Batman costume and Batman voice to take the law into his own hands. Annie admits to breaking the DVD but Abed doesn’t believe it. He breaks into the landlord’s apartment and asks him where it is. Rick doesn’t have the DVD but he does have a closet full of ladies’ footwear. Annie apologizes to Abed for breaking the DVD and he forgives her.
This was an AWESOME episode. I loved seeing this other side of Shirley but I’m sorry she made Jeff pee himself. The anime part was superbly done and I loved seeing Abed Batman again. Just a super great episode. What’d you like best, Big Cheddar? Leave a comment!

Great recap! I really loved seeing Batman!Abed again. I’m going to miss this show so much in January 😦
