Finally! The Squint Squad is back and I am not disappointed in our first episode of the 7th season. The main focus of our characters was on Booth and Brennan, of course, and what they are going to do about their living arrangements. To marry or not to marry…that is the question! Temp and Booth have been going back and forth, staying at each other’s apartment and it is getting old. Temp wants to stay at her place and Booth wants to get a new place to call their own.
Let’s read on….
Couple of “first time” events happened in the show. The first one was seeing Bones crying and all emotional. She is laying claim that it is the hormones, but still, Booth is feeling the need to capture it on his phone camera. Not cool Booth…not cool. But the fun moment was when she told Angela that it was ok, since she had a picture of Booth naked, cooking an omelet. Say what? Yes, I am sure many of the female fans had the same reaction as Angela and would love to get a copy of that picture! Did anyone else have the feeling that when Temp came in to talk to Angela, clearly upset, that maybe she was going to tell Angela she felt uncomfortable with wanting to see Booth naked? I did, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. Temp explained that Booth wants to get a place so they can live together and Angela agrees with him. Angela shows a cute home video of baby-Hodgins and how happy they are. Angela then explains that the baby will need BOTH parents there to love and raise him/her. Tempy feels very emotional to Angela at this moment…another first!
Bones screws up big time by telling Booth she is willing to move in together, but since she is the baby mama and more financially secure and rational, she should decide where they live. Oh boy, this does not sit well with Booth. You definitely bruised his manhood on that one Bones! He says they are family and I agree with Booth, they both have to make the decision. The only lighter moment of the scene is Sweets clearing sensing an icy chill in the air, but neither of them saying anything. He is shut out again! His theory of tension between them because of housing arrangement is correct…as usual. Oh and by the way, Bones was eating some of Booth’s pie…another first.
I loved the little talk B & B have when he comes to her rescue of being trapped in the office. He was the only one she thought of calling, even though security was there in the building. They agree to get a place together, to call their own. We learn in this episode that Bones is a bit skittish because of the foster care she went thru and Booth is worried about being like his father. Bones has no worries; she knows he will never be like his father. Through the case, Bones learns thru the victim that this is her chance to start over and make a new life for herself.
The fun moment is the end as B & B are in bed and he is watching a ball came and she on her laptop, and she is looking for homes. She finds one and is willing to spend over a million dollars, which he clearly can’t afford. She explains that she has plenty, but he wants to split it 50/50. Oh Booth, use Tempy’s money! He then does a little baby rub on her belly and exclaims “new memories, new life”.
Quote of the night: Wendell- “She’s having that baby so the next generation will have somebody to make them feel dumb.”
Yucky moment of the night: The bugs coming out of the freshly removed brain.
Ok gang; are you glad the show is FINALLY back? Your thoughts are what I am looking for so leave me a comment. Do you like where the show is heading?

I like Bones.
But.
It hard to believe that in Season 7, she is still emotionally stupid (for a genius no less). Has she learned nothing about interpersonal relations over the past six years?
And.
I guessed the doctor early (for the wrong reason since they introduced the gambling near the end, but still…). Does this mean I should be on the Bones team?
And last, amnesia does not make someone do a complete personality makeover. For instance, if you weren’t a robber before, you won’t be a robber after you lose your memory. Same as with hypnosis. Kind of a glaring point.
Thanks for the recap! 🙂
You are welcome. Come back again.
Thanks Karen! Great recap/review as usual!
The only issue that I have now that Bones and Booth are together is that the episode seemed to lose a little bit of that “something special”, I think. Something that it had a lot more of when they were not together – maybe the sexual chemistry or something is what it was. Otherwise, it was a pretty good episode. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! 🙂
Great recap!
I’m so happy they are finally together. i waited for that for 6 seasons!! But it was worth it. So cute :). Can’t wait to see the next episode. I’m so excited.
Okay, this was a cute episode, but where’s the backstory!? They built up the B&B chemistry for 6 years just to leave us out of the actual moment when it went to “something more?” That’s a cruel disservice to all Bones fans who have stuck with this show for six years of ups and downs–and, let’s face it–some pretty bad episodes.
