Chang lives in a utility closet at Greendale and sleeps with a mannequin leg. Also, they’re charging for the water fountain in order to keep tuition down and save on water. There’s a two sip minimum, by the way.

Kane assigns a terrarium project for the Biology class and laments the changes in Lego while he was inside. They’re just so complicated now, he says. He assigns partners and the study group asks Kane if they can partner up among themselves because they’re a family and they love each other. This is not going to end well.

Pierce is the odd man out so he has to keep Weird Todd as his partner. So the pairs are Troy/Abed, Britta/Shirley, Jeff/Annie, Pierce/Todd. Troy and Abed decide they spend too much time together, Jeff doesn’t care about the project, and Shirley is too busy looking at pictures of her baby. Now they want to change partners. Jeff calls it the “Todd Problem” and blames it all on Todd. They come up with some algorithm that rates their popularity and pairs them up accordingly. It starts getting ugly. Poor Todd. Finally, Todd snaps after they’ve been there arguing all night. He tells them that they’re all horrible people who destroy anything they touch. Now he’s going home to his wife and daughter and he’s going to take his insulin. No one has their project done except Annie, by the way. They are such a mess that Kane tells them they all have to share one piece of equipment and a grade amongst themselves.

Chang wants to be a full on detective, rather than a school security guard. He goes film noir and creeps everyone out. He believes there’s some kind of conspiracy so he orders a zillion matchbooks that say Arizona Matchbook Company. He does that bulletin board with the yarn connecting the elements thing, but the yarn ball falls into a flame and he accidentally sets the school on fire. In order to keep the fact that Chang is living on campus and violating a bunch of codes secret, Dean Pelton sides with Chang when the head of security confronts him about it all. Head of security resigns and Dean Pelton makes Chang the new head of security. On an amusing note, Dean Pelton also has a film noir commentary running in his head. Chang is totally unhinged. I mean, he’s really crazy.

I love this show. These people are so insane. I enjoyed the Chang film noir and it’s adorable that Dean Pelton does the same. Of course he does. I also find it pretty hysterical when Jeff has to deal with the fact that he is not the most handsome, most popular, best at everything. I like him that way. How’d you like it this week?
