So the third season of 90210 was sort of fun and campy, but this season is just…terrible. The show switched show runners at the end of last season & it turns out that the switch was a change for the worse. So did this episode make me believe this season was going to get any better? Nope. Read on for a quick recap of what happened in the first 3 episodes and a review of tonight’s episode.

So far this season, Naomi found out she wasn’t pregnant & became president of a sorority, Annie found out that her inheritance from the actress she was assisting last season was being road blocked by the woman’s family, Liam came back & proposed to Annie twice (she rejected both times) & opened a bar, Navid took over his father’s studio & found out his uncle was running an illegal car theft ring from one of the studios, & Adrianna was, sadly, still alive & found work at Liam’s bar. None of these plots is rather interesting this season, so let’s break this episode down by character.

Naomi- Naomi called a meeting with her sorority sisters to try to get rid of Holly as the head of the Greek council. She later shows up at Austin’s place and tries to seduce him. She asks him for help in taking down Holly in the gladiator event, a series of competitions with the sororities/fraternities. They get frustrated with each other and make out. Later that night, they kiss in front of Holly & he reveals to her that he & Holly dated and she keyed his car when he wanted things to end. The next day at the gladiator event, Naomi’s ex Max shows up. Holly found a letter from Max to Naomi in Annie’s room and called him. Max & Naomi talk & get back together. Later, Austin tries to get with Naomi, but she stops and says she’s not that type of person anymore. Naomi has always been my favorite character because of her outrageousness, but this season I’m not caring as much for her, or her one-liners, as much as I used to.

Liam- I’ve never particularly cared for Liam or his storylines & his story this year isn’t impressing me much either. After talking with Jane about apartments, she tells him she needs to go back to Alaska to file her husband’s death certificate for insurance money that they need for the bar. Later, Silver talks with him about starring in a commercial and he agrees immediately. Of course, he films the commercial & things go terribly. They end up editing the commercial and making him look good though, which drives in tons of customers at the bar.

Dixon- Navid apologizes for not giving him studio time last week by giving him studio time this week. Dixon suffers some writers block so he takes some of Austin’s ADHD medication. He later goes looking for more in Austin’s room and then goes to the beach to score some from strangers. The whole “stealing meds” storyline is as old as teen dramas go, and this one is just boring. I’ve never liked Dixon and always found him to be a weak spot amongst a weak cast, which leads me to…

Annie- Annie has always been my least favorite character. I didn’t like her in episode one and I still don’t like her now. I wish I could tell you that she had an okay storyline tonight, but her whole story this season can be summed up in one word: money. She has none. She doesn’t even have money for her scholarship, so she has now been forced to escort.

Adrianna- I used to be a fan of Adrianna, until last season when she stole Silver’s bi-polar medication and caused her to almost commit suicide. That will ruin a character for you. Her story tonight consisted of her talking to a stranger. That stranger later stalked her, and we found out at the end of the episode that the guy wasn’t stalking her per say, but the bar. The guy turned out to be…JANE’S DEAD HUSBAND. Apparently, he’s not so dead after all.

I’m intrigued by the soapy twist at the end of the episode, but not by much else. What used to be a fun show has turned into a drag. I hope the writers can turn it around, but I don’t have much hope. So what did you think of the episode? Will the zombie husband come back & steal Jane from Liam next week? Leave your TwoCents in the comments below!

I miss Greek week when it was on the original 90210 with Steve, Brandon, Andrea with her religious issues, Jon (aka Dan Scott)…SO GOOD. Those were the days….

The only positive to this episode was the return of Max and Naomi attempting to be a better person. I love that about Max – he really seemed to get Naomi to be someone different. Her turning down Austin proves that. Sort of. I hope…

Annie as an escort…blah. Jim back from the dead? Meh…

I knew as soon as the guy asked Adriana if Liam had a girlfriend who he was.
