Let me just say, this is one of my favorite episodes of all time. Report cards have arrived at the Miller home and Bill finds out that Brian had been taking Drivers Education class. I remember those first days of driving. I almost killed myself and my mom! Anyway, Bill sees this as the perfect opportunity to teach Brian to drive.
I love the episodes with Brian and Bill because you know its going to be hysterical. They have a good relationship as father and son but they have are two complete opposites. Bill is more of a laid back aggressive person while Brian is uptight and wants everything to be done by the book. Anyway, Bill takes Brian driving but Bill is to aggressive and tries to control every move Brian makes which Brian does not like at all.
Meanwhile, Lauren is wanting new clothes and she decides that she likes vintage clothes so Judy decides to get her old 70’s clothes out. Of course when Judy gets the box out it smells like “incense” or that’s what she tells Lauren. Later that day, Judy takes Brian driving and Brian is happy with the lesson but when they get home, Bill has a surprise for the family. He has bought a 1981 party van for Brian. Brian looked like he was going to puke. Judy is shocked at first but loves it though, so they all go for a ride with Brian driving.
Anyway, after making a stop to pick up Linda, Bill finds out that Judy has been teaching Brian to drive. Let me just say that I would be more like Bill and be more aggressive but when I’m trying to learn, I have to be calm. Of course, Bill is heart-broken and is even more heart-broken when he learns that Judy has taught him to do everything while Brian was growing up when he thought he was the one teaching him. I feel bad for Bill but he’s not really a good teacher.
Some of my favorite moments and quotes:
“Gun it, gun it!” Bill
“If you go any slower, will have to put roses on the car and enter it as a float.”, Bill
-When Lauren says that the party bus smells like incense.
-When Judy can’t let go of her 70’s clothes. (Who can?)
What did you think? What do you think of the series in general? Leave me a comment or email me. Give me your two cents.
