Did you know that Maw Maw and Jimmy share a birthday? That kind of sucks for Jimmy, especially as a kid, but now Jimmy has more friends and he can enjoy it more. As extra special gift to us we get a flashback to five years ago. Maw Maw is lucid, Virginia and Burt (who is a wearing “I’d Rather be in Virginia” haha) are still awesome and Jimmy is channeling The Raven. He wants to be called Drakkar Noir and is incredibly angsty. Sabrina has braces, Barney is fat, Frank has insane side burns, and Shelley is still pretty awesome.
As her “birthday surprise” Maw Maw kicks Virginia, Burt and Jimmy out of her house. Oh boy!
They have no money, no house and basically no belongings. They eat a bunch for free at the grocery store, and Virginia arranges to stay at her bosses house but they think Jimmy is the devil. Oh and did I mention Sabrina thinks that goth Jimmy is hot? There is so much funny going on I can’t even describe it all. You just have to watch it. I will say this, I’m not always a fan of flashback episodes, but this is brilliant.
Jimmy’s friends can’t let him stay with them cause their parents hate him. He’s lurking around the store and we see some interesting foreshadowing. The future serial killer baby mama is around with a loser boyfriend. Sabrina is crushing hard on Jimmy. And Barney is about to have a heart attack. Jimmy stows away in the DVD box and spends the night in the store. Pretty brilliant actually.
Burt and Virginia are not doing as well. Sleeping next to the washer/dryer and getting woken up by children, and then Burt gets covered in llama spit. Or alpaca spit. It’s hilarious. They develop “let’s be grownups” plan, by getting more work and saving money after Maw Maw refuses to let them back in. Back at Woody’s, Jimmy is about to get caught. Barney is freaked out by the potential of gypsies. Jimmy gets caught by Barney and makes a run for it. Just as Sabrina got all dressed up for him. She looks kind of beautiful.
When Virginia and Burt go back to Maw Maw to make amends, they figure out that she has Alzheimers and promptly move back in. Everything gets back to the way we know it now. They are such an awesome family. It’s nice that they didn’t cliffhanger us isn’t it? We know they’re awesome. Next year? Terrible twos!

This is only the 3rd time I’ve seen the show so I was a little confused, but I still enjoyed it. I hope this season comes out on DVD so I can watch them all in a row.
I loved Sabrina and Jimmy all gothed out! So awesome.
The entire show was hilarious.
So Hope’s Mom and Jimmy’s Ex was that woman that bought all that bleach? lol
Wow.
Yay! Another convert. Yes, the blonde who bought all the bleach is Hope’s mom. The serial killer who was killed on death row (fastest ever I bet).
I’m sure they’ll be on DVD before next season so you can catch up. Make sure not to do a spit-take on your TV!
