After another season of backstabbing, lies, fabulous fashion and love triangles, the fourth season of Gossip Girl is already over. And to make sure we would all come back in the fall, there were some pretty huge cliffhangers.

But first, because this is the finale, Georgina was back, Nate loses a girlfriend, Charlie is even crazier than we thought, and Chuck and Blair are still stealing the show. So, what else is new?

Chuck and Blair, the never-ending saga

So, we start the episode with Blair still being held hostage by evil Russell Thorpe. Of course, because he’s the worst villain EVER, he doesn’t do a whole lot, just whine and talk. Blair, meanwhile, manages to call Chuck to come and help her. The whole thing is over in like 5 minutes, so talk about over-hype! Let’s just be glad the Russell storyline is over, FINALLY! Anyway, the real story of the episode was all about Chuck and Blair’s reconciliation/break-up. The two spend their last night together. It was very reminiscent of season 1, when the two were on top of the world. But they’re not kids anymore; they have to think of the future. So, when Blair just can’t quite seem to let go, Chuck does it for her, and I cried I’ll admit it. Damn you, Chuck Bass! At the end, the two seem to be entering a new chapter in their life, Blair will marry Louis and Chuck is…well Chuck but with a little more maturity. However, things couldn’t be that simple, right? The last thing we see is a pregnancy test that Dorota tosses in the trash. Is Blair pregnant? It would have to be Chuck’s; she never slept with Louis, right?

Charlie went straight to crazy town

The other major storyline involved Charlie and Serena. After last week, Charlie is looking worse, drinking straight from the vodka bottle and causing a scene at the party. She goes missing, so everybody ends up looking for her. The best part of this story was Georgina, desperately trying to get in on what was going on, and everybody blowing her off. Hilarious! But, they should have listened to her; she figured Charlie out the minute she saw her. It takes one true manipulative bitch to find out another, I guess!

Anyhow, Serena finds Charlie near a window, looking like she’s about to jump. The two get into an argument about who screwed up their life the most and Serena convinces Charlie that her life isn’t perfect and that she really shouldn’t try to be her. Wow, first time Serena has ever made sense to me! There’s a first to everything! I am glad though that Serena FINALLY admitted that she is basically a screw-up who can’t make up her mind, ever! After four seasons, that’s progress, right? Anyway, the episode ends with Charlie going back home and Serena in LA. The Upper East Side princess seems to want to go into show business. That’s weird… And Charlie reveals herself not to be the real Charlie! It was all a scheme from Carol, and it looks like Charlie stole some money for her during her stay in New-York. What does this mean? Well, from the looks of it, faux-Charlie is not gone for good, judging by the way she was looking at Georgina’s number…

Dan and Nate are still friends!

In a minor subplot, Dan and Nate rekindled their bro-mance this week, all joking about their screwed-up love life. So adorable, I missed these two together! I was glad the writers acknowledged that Dan still has feelings for Blair, but only Eric seemed to figure it out. I wonder if Dan will try anything next season. I haven’t lost hope on the Dair front. But things might not be so pleasant for Dan next year…Vanessa found his book/satire on the Upper East Side and decided to publish it, without his consent. She couldn’t just GO away, without doing anything stupid? As for Nate, our favorite pretty boy still finds himself single at the end of the season when Raina dumps him. What’s the cure for a broken heart though? Go get drunk with his best friend Chuck Bass, of course! What could possibly go wrong? Sigh.

Overall, it was a pretty entertaining season of Gossip Girl, far better than the third one. With Eric going to college next year, do you think we’ll see more of him? What about Dan? Will he finally tell Blair he likes her more than a friend? Is she going to marry the prince? Yeah, right! I’ll believe that once it happens. What was your favorite moment of season 4? How are we going to wait until the fall? It’s going to be a long wait so please give us your TwoCents!

I’ve always hated Vanessa and am glaaad she’s leaving the show. Her character was beyond annoying, always thinking she was better than the others because she has no money, but seriously, she’s worse. The book thing will surely cause some trouble for Dan. And… is Vanessa CASHING IN the profits ?!?! That is the all time low !!! Blair and Chuck’s story was soooo emotional ! And are we sure the pregnancy test is Blair’s ? It’s at her house, but maybe it can be Serena’s ??

      Hey Tracy!

      I don’t think the baby is Serena’s…She hasn’t had a boyfriend for some time…

And you’re right, Vanessa is THE worst! Good ridance! lol

  2. Usually when a pregnancy test is on the scene two things comes to mind…an actual baby or abortion…I don’t think Chuck Bass is ready for fatherhood since he didn’t love his father…or will this be the plot for the 5th season…chuck bass unable to love his father…finds himself being a father…mind blowing!

      Hey Tastysmashedoranges!

I don’t think Chuck is ready either…but who knows, I get the feeling that he wouldn’t freak out that much since it’s Blair.

I just hope the pregnancy test is not a fake-out, like it’s Dorota or Blair’s mom that’s pregnant cause’ that would suck!

  3. Beth says:

I think the Pregnancy test being for Blair is to obvious. I think it could be for Serena, and if it is they will flash back as to how she got pregnant for Dan, Nat,or Ben.

    Just a thought.
