There is only one more episode left this season…Now, that’s just crazy! Maybe that’s why cousin Charlie’s off her meds! But that’s not even the wildest thing that happens this week! Dan is unknowingly reenacting Fatal Attraction, Blair is still hell-bent on marrying her stupid prince and Jack Bass brings on the comic relief.
I know, I can’t quite process that last one…
Dan and Charlie
So, the big party this week was a high school reunion/charity event. Yes, because it makes sense total sense to have a reunion TWO years after graduation. Anyway, Dan is going and thinks it’s a good idea to invite Charlie, with which he’s been spending quite a lot of time lately (and making out!). Wait, what! Since when are they dating? Anyhow, Charlie is over the moon and asks Serena for help. She wants to blend in and tries on Serena’s dresses. After Serena leaves the room, Charlie sees a photo of Dan and Serena from season 1, at the debutante ball, with the gorgeous gold dress. She looks at it very intensely. (Hum! Crazy.) You see, at the beginning of the episode, her mom called Rufus and asked him to go pick up her daughter’s medication. It seems like Charlie has some kind of a depression problem, or she’s bipolar, I don’t know…but what’s clear is that she isn’t taking the pills anymore! At the party, Serena sees that Charlie “borrowed” her gold dress and makes a scene about it. Not the best way to go S! You know how Dan loves his damsels in distress! But Dan starts to catch up when Charlie starts acting even weirder and asks him to call her Serena while they’re making out. That’s quite the buzz kill. I have no idea what’s going to happen with her. I don’t understand why we need this character. She doesn’t bring anything new, the show has had its fair share of manipulative crazy stalkers…I am still holding out hope for Dan to fight for Blair. I know, it’s stupid but the writers really seem to have forgotten that storyline.
Jack Bass and his one-man show
After last week, when Raina called Jack, we were all sure he was going to be more evil than ever, right? Wrong! So, he first appeared to have made a deal with Raina and her dad to bring down Chuck (again): he wanted to get him first into a rehab centre. The scene was very dramatic, Chuck was taken away and Jack looked on, with a grin on his face. We should have known something wasn’t right, the whole thing was very out of character. Jack usually likes the backstabbing and the humiliating when it comes from him, not when he’s being bought by someone else. So, when they caught Russell later, trying to sneak out something he stole from Chuck’s suite, it made perfect sense. Turns out, Russell is the one who accidently killed his wife and he didn’t want his daughter to find out. The best part about that scene was that Jack, while getting increasingly bored by the “soap opera”, was popping in and out of the frame, telling his nephew he wanted room service because Chuck only has olives and pot for food. Hilarious. That explains so much! I do wish the big revelation had more of an impact but this storyline has been badly handled. I never cared about any of it. Except now, Russell may want to get revenge on Chuck…by kidnapping Blair? Somebody else needs his medication!
Blair and the wedding we all know won’t happen
This week, Blair was stressing out over the fact that Louis’s mother still hadn’t accepted her, so she wanted her parents and the princess to get along. She shouldn’t have worried, though, because her step-dad charmed the princess with their shared passion for…birds? Okay, moving on… What Blair should have been worried about was Dan. Kidding! But come on writers! Give us Dair fans a little something! Anyway, Blair spends the entire episode worrying about Chuck because Jack’s back, which causes Louis to think she’s never going to be over Chuck. He’s a real genius that prince! He gives her an ultimatum. She needs to be at the airport at midnight (SO dramatic!) or she’ll lose him forever. On her way, Blair gets a call, saying Chuck’s about to jump off a building. Of course, she runs to save him but it’s not Chuck; it is evil Russell…dun dun dun! What is he going to do to her?
Overall, it was a pretty good episode but there is still no mention of Dair! I am very disappointed this storyline wasn’t fully explored. Anyway, just when things are looking up for Chuck, Blair gets kidnapped by his enemy. That’s bad luck! Honestly, with just one more episode, I have no idea what’s going to happen. What do you think? Are Blair and Chuck getting back together? What about Dan? There is too much crazy going on, so give us your two cents!

I so agree with you about dan and blair! the writers are somewhat experiencing some literary coma on how this two will blossom as an awesome couple. I don’t know what will happen at the final episode…But I’m starting to lose hope on this dairship!
