We’re nearing the end of the season, fellow Gossip Girl fans, and things are starting to get messy. Last week, we were led to believe that Dan and Blair were over but are they? This week, we get other twists in their ongoing saga.
Chuck gets down a very familiar road and Charlie adapts pretty well to the Upper East Side life…And most importantly, whose idea was it exactly to put all of these women in bright pink?
Dan and Blair: Soul Mates?
After last week’s debacle, I was sure things were not looking good for this pair but the writers proved me wrong! Sure, things did not end up like I wanted but who cares? Dan and Blair are still on! Let’s focus on that for a minute. First, Blair starts off the episode all happy because the prince showed up and asked her out. Blair, of course, immediately starts to plan their wedding in her head. She’s living her fantasy, what else is she going to do? Unbeknownst to her though, the prince’s family doesn’t want their son to date a “commoner”. I was as insulted as Blair at that point! How dare them! Anyway, to prove to the guy who’s accompanying the prince that nothing is going on between them, Blair enlists Dan’s help. (How very “The Prince and Me”, BTW) She wants him to pretend to be her boyfriend! Yes! However, they don’t know that Serena knows or suspects something’s going on between them. You see, after receiving Vanessa’s text last week, our miss Van Der Woodsen has decided that it would be a genius idea to oust them to Gossip Girl as a couple with the help of Charlie. God, get a life Serena. Obviously it blows up in her face. (When does it not really?) Things come to a head at the Pink Party, when Blair kisses Dan and the secret is out! The three friends end up explaining to each other what’s going on and Blair admits she’s friends with Dan. Good for her! But Serena refuses to believe any real friendship is happening, she thinks it’s all about her, and that Blair wants what’s hers. Dan is hers now? Again, get a life Serena!
Later, Blair and the Prince make their relationship public, which is sure to cause drama in the final episodes! And Charlie apologizes to Dan for sending the kiss photo to Gossip Girl. I don’t trust her; she seems too nice, what’s her dark secret? But the best thing about that scene is that Dan reveals he’s falling for Blair. You go get her Lonely Boy! Oh, and Dan finally tells Vanessa to back off. Finally!
Chuck’s many issues are coming back…
So remember how last week Chuck was all about Blair? Well, apparently he forgot because this time he was all about his daddy issues. Yes, after 3 seasons, Chuck is still haunted by his late father. He thinks his father may have killed Raina’s mom, leaving her in one of his buildings caught on fire. Poor Chuck, his dad was a jerk but a murderer? I don’t know. He got a cassette tape (remember those?) as evidence from the night it supposedly happened. What is he going to do with it?
Raina and Nate
Hey Nate! He’s there for more than 2 minutes this time! It’s ridiculous how he’s become a guest star now! Anyway, this week, he helps Raina track down her mom because she doesn’t know about the fire. In the end, it all leads up to nothing but I’m pretty sure she’s not going to give up. Chuck better be careful.
Pink Lily
So, Lily got a taste of her own medicine tonight, with all of her supposed “friends” shunning her from the charity event she was organizing. After a little blackmail, Serena, Rufus and Eric get them to reconsider. They all come but act bitchy the whole time. Shocker! That’s when Lily calls the cops and they make them leave. Point for Lily! Now, she just wants to cuddle up with Rufus before she goes to jail. Sweet?
This was a very good episode, way better than the last! I am so psyched for the rest of the season! Dan and Blair are definitely not over, so yeah! I am curious about Charlie though. She looked a little too admiringly at Dan at the end. Is she going to go all psycho on him? Poor Dan, he really has bad luck in the love department… What do you think? Are you as excited for the final episodes? Do you think Blair will realize she may have feelings for Dan too? It’s too much drama, so give us your two cents!

Great episode, Great review.
