Last week was the perfect way to show someone exactly what Justified is about. This week was no different. It had the perfect amount of the Southern elegance as well as some great dramatic moments that some of us had to turn our heads in fear. This show is real to life, they are things that you could actually see happening, and the part that makes it such a great watch is that it is believable.

Mags and Loretta are like two peas in a pod right here at the beginning. She says that she has always wanted a girl and always had boys. This was where we saw a blunt and in out face demonstration of how Mags prefers Loretta over her own sons. When Coover walked in on them getting ready for the party and his own mother kicks him out, we really see that as the reason that Coover is the way he is.

This party was perfect, the music and the dancing. This is a great southern charm that you never hear anymore on country radio. Coover wearing Loretta’s fathers watch was something that was the first indicator that this was going to get ugly. When Raylan brought up the clogging, I couldn’t help but admire the amazing dancing that everyone was doing.

The meeting between Mags, Carol and Boyd was something that I really wasn’t expecting from this week. Last week Raylan called that Boyd is shady and he was 100 percent right about it. Raylan playing guard duty was interesting especially after the story that we heard last week. Mags has absolutely played her cards right with Black Pike. Carol seemed so ticked about how she got played by Black Pike, Boyd and Mags.
When Boyd walked out of the house, finally getting what he needed and he got up on that dance floor we all knew we were in for a treat. Back when he was younger, he and his mother were state clogging champions and we can see why! That was amazing to watch him jump up there and start dancing!

When they are sitting on the front porch and they are sitting there talking that is where Loretta starts to see that something is wrong. Doyle sitting there playing while Mags was singing was just beautiful. I love things like that, the simple family life. Coover trying to be friendly with Loretta is where it all went south. This is where she has a thought that they killed her father. She is so torn up about it and doesn’t really understand it.

When we watch the scene with Loretta and Coover and how she hands him the drug. I knew by the look on her face that she knew that it was just a matter of time. After Coover passes out and Loretta starts looking around, I started to panic… as soon as she found the watch she should have ran out of the house and called Raylan. She knew that she really wasn’t safe.

When he woke up, he was so pissed off. Dickie seems to think pretty clearly between the two idiot brothers. He is the one that actually tries to balance out Coover, but this time he took it the wrong way by bringing up the fact that he has a jealous side… especially since it almost got him killed. Coover really wasn’t someone that I thought would show any sign of hurt in his eyes, but when knocked out Dickie that was the first time I had ever seen any emotion other than pure anger.

When it came to the point where Coover was driving behind Loretta, I was so scared for what had happened to her. When Raylan goes in and is torturing Dickie for the information, after he gives it up all he can say is “Don’t you kill my brother Raylan.”

We couldn’t help but be worried when Raylan finally catches up with Coover. Every time those two fought each other, Raylan always gets beat. This time with Loretta there, she distracted Coover and Raylan killed him… and after this whole season of trying not to kill anyone.
When Mags comes to see Raylan the morning after he killed her son, she shows no remorse for her dead son, the only thing that she cares about is talking to Loretta. She begs with Raylan and she is so upset and after that she turned straight to anger.

This week is the first time that we see Raylan kill someone that honestly was Justified.

I cannot wait for next week!! How about you? What did you think?

Coover had it coming since like minute 1 of Season 2. Can’t wait to see what Mama and them’s gonna do now.

Plus I think every time Raylan has shot or killed anyone it’s been Justified™

I thought that this week it was really clear that it was Justified. Other times we see like Tommy Bucks and even with Boyd in Ava’s house, all within season one, I really don’t see it as Justified, but necessary.

Mags is a sociopath. While she gave the impression she cared for Loretta, by placing her mother’s barrette in her hair, you are left thinking that perhaps her motives are not pure. Then after Coover is gone, Mags does not show compassion for her son, but a twisted request to see Loretta. You can watch her face switch, like a serial killer. Mags has one emotion.. anger. The rest of her is just an act.

I feel Boyd doesn’t know what he is getting into. I believe Arlo and Helen Givens are in cahoots with Mags. Which leaves everyone else lurking in the shadows.

Agree that the Givens are in cahoots with Mags…think it is going to be a shocker especially for raylan when he finds out!

Am I the one who is beginning to worry about raylan racking up so many “kills”..as justified as most seem to be? Surely its not er natural for any lawman to have shot these many people? Whilst I love he is a great shot and all that, i do love it more when he resolves situations using his charm and psychology – that prisoner hostage at the station episode some time back?

  5. ABigFan says:

sorry thats “am i the only one….”:)
