Look at those shows – not really the biggest dramas are they? So, what happens when one of TV’s most popular dramas tries it? Grey’s Anatomy aired its “Song Beneath The Song” episode last night.
Are the Grey’s fans GLEEful with this treatment? Many were cautious but there were many fans who were optimistic with Tony-winning Sara Ramirez on staff.
So, how did it do? I can’t get a consensus. It’s like marshmallow fluff – you either LOVE it, think it’s just OK, or you HATE it.
Fans of TheTwoCents and KPonTV have been quite varied in their reactions.
Some LOVED it:
Bria H: Best episode of Grey’s Anatomy by far!
Some liked it:
Kristen D: I liked it. It was different. Obviously no one sings as well as Sara Ramirez, but it was kinda cool to hear them try.
Some hated it:
Deirdre R: This musical Grey’s Anatomy is B.S.
And others could see the jump over the shark!
Gina C: I just called Henry Winkler to put his skis on.
Even the staff here at TheTwoCents doesn’t know how to react:
Will thought it was “Excellent! Some great singing!”. Rachel Mann shared “I’m watching, and not loving it even though the cast is talented” and Farrah wasn’t as happy with it saying “OMG This is RUINING Grey’s Anatomy.”
And let’s not forget those “in the know”. On Twitter Chris Daughtry was just as confused as everyone else:
@CHRIS_Daughtry: Watching Greys Anatomy annnnnd this musical thing is just weird.
How about you guys? Did you like it? Did you love it? Did you hate it? Do you just want a sandwich with Fluff now? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

People are calling it “Glee’s Anatomy.” I still can’t believe I watched what I watched. And rumors are already starting about a second musical episode. I pray it doesn’t. The show was finally getting good again after a long stretch of being “meh.” Now this? It’s like two steps back. Complete and total fail.
What made it even worse? They brought Kate Walsh in for a whole three minutes, taking her from Private Practice right in the middle of a huge story arc. UGH.
I thought it was absolutely weird, though nice to see such a talented cast of singers.
