First off, a huge Thank You! to JD for covering Fringe while I was away. She did a fantastic job. Second, Fringe was renewed! Hooray! And third, what a crazy time for me to go on vacation! I mean, Bellivia? How amazing was all that?!? Unfortunately, no Anna/Spock this week… we’re Over There.
Fauxlivia sister Rachel died from a rare blood disorder called VPE that only presents when pregnant. There is an 80% chance Fauxlivia is a carrier. If she is, it is most likely that neither she nor her baby would make it through delivery. The only solution would be an abortion. After a quick trip to the doctor for the VPE test, Fauxlivia returns home to rest and wait for the results… only she can’t rest because she feels like someone is following her (Hello, Mr. Observer!). She calls Lincoln and he sends a security detail over. When they arrive, she’s gone.
Still trying to figure out the connection between Peter and The Machine, Walternate tells Brandon that under no uncertain terms are they to experiment on children. Then he gets the call from Lincoln (whom we all know is totally in love with Fauxlivia) that she has been kidnapped. He is more than worried because, of course, she is carrying his grandchild. Brandon, however, looks a little shifty. Maybe that’s just how he looks.
Meanwhile, Olivia is being tended to by creepy doctors and nurses (Black O.R. masks? Really?). They administer some medication to “holy crap!” accelerate the pregnancy. Dude. Her mom gets the call from the nice doctor with the news that Fauxivia is, indeed, a carrier of VPE and that she won’t survive delivery. Too bad the baddie doctors don’t know that.
FD tries to use Fauxlivia’s blood-borne tracker to find her, but the kidnappers somehow knew about said tracker and threw them off the scent. This is a complete red flag to Lincoln because there are only a handful of people at FD that even know about the trackers. RoboAstrid, after analyzing security footage, identifies Henry (whom I love, by the way) as a suspect because he had driven by her building several times in the past few weeks. Lincoln & Charlie bring him in and he tells them everything. From his experiences with our Olivia to seeing Fauxlivia and being heartbroken because she didn’t recognize him. Henry knows way too much to be lying, and he gets both Lincoln and Charlie thinking…
Lincoln confronts Walternate, and Walternate tells him everything: the Olivia switcheroo, the father of Fauxlivia’s baby, everything. Lincoln tells Charlie and they theorize about the implications of both having a mole on the team and the idea of their alternates. Now it’s Charlie who looks a little shifty. Is it possible that this Charlie is our Charlie? That the one killed by the shape-shifter Over Here was the Charlie from Over There? I mean, he quoted Taxi Driver and Lincoln didn’t get it. Maybe that movie doesn’t exist Over There. Hmm…
Fauxlivia is just about to give birth (I wish my pregnancies had been that short!) but makes a play for escape. She incapacitates a few guards (8 months pregnant, mind you), and escapes into Chinatown. She finds a phone, calls Lincoln, and Henry (who knows a shortcut) takes him right to her. It’s too late; she’s in full labor. Lincoln holds her, knowing that there is only a 10% chance that she will live, and confesses his love. I’ll admit, I got a little choked up. Henry, after some introductions, delivers the baby, a boy. Miraculously, they both survive.
The next morning, Olivia and baby are recovering in the hospital. Apparently, the accelerated pregnancy saved both their lives as the virus didn’t have time to replicate at that speed. FD can find no trace of the kidnappers, so Olivia and son get their own security detail. A nurse takes the baby for a blood test, and hands the results to one of the freaky black-masked doctors who hands it to someone else. I looks like it was August, everyone’s favorite Observer… but it was actually Brandon. I knew he was behind it! Then the twist: he hands the results to Walternate. He planned the whole thing.
What do YOU think? Will this baby be able to take Peter’s place in The Machine? Is Charlie a mole from our side? How sweet is Lincoln and how awesome is Henry? Give us your Two Cents in the comment section below!
No new episode until April 15th… but that one (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) looks like a doozy!

Ok, I love Henry too. Love the character! I was freakin a bit during pregnancy acceleration. How bout the “I love you” from Lincoln? Aw. I knew Walternate was behind it all, damn him. I’d like to see Lincoln & Charlie try and work to get back to our Oliv.
I was really thinking they’d kill off Fauxlivia… but now maybe she & Lincoln can be together? Leave Peter to the girl he is SUPPOSED to be with!
I literally squealed when Henry showed up! I am SO glad they brought him back. What a good guy! And Lincoln holding Olivia, expecting her to die in his arms… okay, yeah, I’m tearing up just thinking about it again. Wow.
And anytime you need someone to cover, I’ll do it again!
I watched it again last night with my husband (who missed it on Friday because of work) and I totally teared up again! Sheesh! And I may need someone to cover in May, depending on when the Finale is… I’ll keep you posted!
Did they tell us the baby’s name?
I LOVED this episode. Great science fiction and even better entertainment. This show just gets better and better. And now it’s coming back for another season!!!!(Although we need to start a campaign in the fall so Fox doesn’t cancel it after a few episodes!)
No baby name… I’m voting for Fox. Or Spooky.
