Now I know there have been shippers that have been anticipating the elimination of Hannah in hopes of Bones and Booth getting back together, tonight they got their wish…or did they? I for one was a little surprised at how it all went down, yet I had a feeling of what Hannah was going to do, but the reaction of Booth was the surprise for me.

The episode started out with Sweets and Booth drinking themselves silly and Sweets telling Booth he doesn’t want to end up like him…not married. Sweets thinks it is just sad that Booth is still single, and he wants to propose to Daisy. First of all isn’t it funny how these two are out drinking after all these years of Booth thinking Sweets was just a crazy shrink and doesn’t know anything? Their relationship has really come full circle. Now back to these two…Booth is taken aback at the comment and quickly tells him that he was thinking of proposing to Hannah but just needs to find a ring. They decide to look together.

The next day, Booth is not feeling well as he arrives at the crime scene. The question is…is he sick to his stomach from drinking or because now he has to look for a ring and propose to Hannah? Later, at the diner, Booth, Brennan and Hannah are eating and they want to know what he and Sweets talked about. Booth keeps quiet.

Meanwhile, we finally get to see Angela get out in the field. She seemed to have fun with it too; we need to see more of that. Poor girl never gets out of the lab. Which leads me to ask: What does Angela do when they don’t have a case? Maybe she is working on the facial reconstruction of all the bones in the basement.

Booth and Sweets go to look at rings and let’s just say that they have different pay scales to deal with. Booth picks out a beautiful ring that had a nice big stone and price tag to go with it. Sweets was thinking of something much smaller and more economical. Sweets realizes that, if he is thinking of the cost…then he is not ready to marry. Booth on the other hand buys the ring. By the way, I liked the first ring better than the second.

So now the drama: Hannah arrives for just another casual get together, but Booth asks her to marry him. She is so taken by surprise that you can see the horror in her face. Uh oh, this is not going to be good.
Hannah turns down his offer and tells him that she has always said she is not ready for seriousness or marriage. She loves him, but just wants it to be like it has been. Booth on the other hand is clearly hurt and feels rejected…AGAIN! He tells her to pack her stuff and leave…whoa! did not expect that to be said…now I am feeling sorry for Hannah too. Wow! This is clearly going down bad and not looking very good for either of them. Booth throws the ring into river. Holy crap…all that money…given to the fish.

Booth goes to the bar and drinks himself into a stupor, when Brennan shows up (Hannah called her). Brennan lets him talk and get out all his frustrations. He is wondering why, why does nobody want him? Three women in his life: the mother of his child, Bones and now Hannah…none wanted him when he poured out his heart to them. Why? Why do they refuse him? It is heartbreaking to hear and yet I am moved by Boreanaz’s performance. Booth is three sheets to the wind as he lays it out to Bones: she either stays and has a drink with him (because that is what they do after a case) or she can go…and she will get a new FBI agent to work with. She stays and has a drink.

The thing that he feared in the beginning of the show…being alone…is what ends up happening to him after all. Weeks ago, Brennan pours her heart out to Booth saying she made a mistake, but he tells her he is with Hannah now. Now Booth wants to do right and marry Hannah and she refuses him. They are both alone and yet we know they still love each other. Is this a sign? Did anybody see this coming? What happens now? I applaud the writers for the twist in this episode. I guess they really do know what they are doing. Hehe .

Fun moments of the show were: Hodgins calling Fisher a bastard when he had his headphones in his ears.
Bones not letting Fisher go to the bathroom when he was clearly in pain from drinking too much tea.
Hodgins describing his baby growing up to be a rocker/scientist/comic.

Ok, give me your 2 cents and let’s talk about it.

The way I figure it is, Booth has a type. He is attracted to beautiful, intelligent, independent women. Such women of this generation have been told they don’t need a man to be successful (and in fact a man might slow them down). So, they can enjoy the company of a guy like Booth, even love him, but don’t feel the need to be encumbered by a marriage. Meanwhile, in his heart, he has this old-fashioned vision of home and hearth – the way he wished his parents marriage had been – the way that his grandparents were. The right girl for him would be more of the nurturing type, the school teacher or nurse, but he isn’t interested. Now he needs to take a look at his expectations and decide if they’re a bit too romantic for the modern woman of his dreams. I do think that B/B is end game, but it’s going to take some time. They were absolutely right to not have Brennan rush in and hug him and let him cry on her shoulder in last night’s episode.
The case last night was only ehhh… I often feel that way when it wasn’t premeditated murder. Who was the twitchy guy that Booth used to track down the bike thief? Have we seen him before? Favorite squint moment for me was Fisher telling Hodgins he could read lips. Hahaha. Anyway, I always enjoy Fisher but I think I liked him better when he was chronically depressed.
