As usual, The Middle never disappoints and tonight was no exception. As we all know, Valentine’s Day is next week so this week’s shows are Valentine’s Day themed. Well, in the Heck household, you know that any holiday can’t be normal.

The show starts off with Mike complaining about Valentine’s Day and how it is one big scam. This disappoints Frankie somewhat, but you can tell she is used to it after 18 years of blissful marriage. If we all go back to elementary school, we can remember making Valentine’s Day cards for the other students. This is what Brick is doing and he is so fascinated by the candy hearts with the writing on them. Meanwhile Sue is as usual searching for her true love. She has taken some desperate measures to find the one; it’s almost stalker like.

Then, the show has one of them teachable moments. Axl actually asks Frankie to help him go buy a gift for his newly acquired girlfriend. Frankie is so stunned by this that she has to take a double take and has to verify that question. While Frankie and Axl are having their mother and son time, Mike is volunteering at the school. The only reason Mike is volunteering is because Frankie is banned from the classroom. All I can say is that he is severely miserable and he ends up being banned himself.

Since Frankie and Axl are getting along so good, she asks him about the new girlfriend. He tells her all these things and she doesn’t sound like a good person. Frankie doesn’t say anything to him because she is enjoying her time with him so much. Mike later jokes and says that, “you are dating our son.” Even though I am not a woman, I could understand why a mother would want to spend time with their son and or daughter.

In the end, Mike messes up Brick’s plan for love with a girl in class but they meet and discuss what fonts Brick likes. For a change Axl realizes that this motorcycle riding, shoplifting, woman isn’t for him. This really was a good episode as usual. Stay posted on Sue’s love life. What did you think of this episode? Give me your two cents.

Its very hard to surprise the newly arrived girlfriend with valentine gifts as we don’t know her likes and dislikes

I haven’t been a huge fan of this show in the last few months, but for me, this episode brought me back and for one reason: SUE. That girl has gusto and it finally paid off for her! I loved that she found Halloween boy and can’t wait for that to pan out. Their little meet up in the hallway was so cute!
