It’s been a long few weeks without the Oceanside Wellness-Pacific Wellcare group. Charlotte has been dealing with her rape, Addison saved her mother’s lover, Violet wrote a book and everyone else is hanging out in the background as supporting players.

But this week things will get deeper as Addison plans her mother’s wedding to Susan with hottie Doctor Rodriguez nearby, Naomi telling her exactly how she feels, Charlotte going to therapy (which involves Sheldon’s mentor) and a shocker of a preview for next week.

Sam’s medical case: Sam and Naomi have some longtime patients from when they first started the practice. Abe is one of them. Sam does one of his routine stop-ins at Abe’s apartment with Abe’s daughter to find a young “nurse” taking care of him. Sam has his suspicions, but it’s not until Abe and Simone (the nurse) come into the office and she drops a bunch of credit cards in his name in front of Pete that Sam opens his eyes to what’s in front of him. Sam goes to Abe about his health and the situation with Simone and Abe tells Sam – plain and simple – he’s sick of being the help, sick of being a burden. Sam gets Lisa, Abe’s daughter, to visit with him and he finally agrees to move in with her.

Charlotte goes to therapy/Sheldon’s dilemma: Sheldon sends Charlotte to his mentor for therapy. All is going well until he writes her a prescription for a cocktail of drugs. What?! She flips out and he wonders what is going on himself. His mentor is the inventor of “talk therapy.” They meet for dinner and it’s more than evident he’s gone off the deep end. He’s not even in the same pool anymore. Sheldon is beyond upset about the situation and Charlotte gives him advice! She tells him he has to stop looking at him as his mentor but as his friend, a friend who needs help. And back to Charlotte, she apologizes to Cooper for not being able to be “with” him still and worries she won’t ever be. Without therapy, how will she know she’s ready? He assures her that he’s not going anywhere and that she’ll just know. Sheldon decides to confront his mentor, with cops in tow. He realizes just how far gone – and how drugged – his mentor is and knows it’s for the best. As for Charlotte? Cooper has been so patient and at the wedding, he vows they will still get married (and agrees not to force the “when” question). While walking in the hall, they stop and kiss, and something comes over Charlotte. She’s ready. Right then. Right there. Cooper offers to get a room but this is Charlotte and in true Charlotte King form, they hit up the ice room.

Bizzy and Susan’s wedding: Addison was not happy to plan the wedding of Bizzy and Susan. Not because she doesn’t like Susan, but because Bizzy never thanks her for anything, never shows her love and the icing on the cake, Susan is the reason Addison’s parents divorced (and the reason Addison hated her father for so long). The wedding brings out the love in everyone, including a flirty Dr. Hottie, who is going to the wedding after saving Susan. Addison decides she wants to marry Sam, so she doesn’t lose him. But it’s irrational and everyone around her points that out, especially Naomi, who so nicely tells her “you suck at relationships.” In the end she goes to Pete, who opens her eyes to what she does (why she listened to Pete and not Naomi? Probably because of the Sam factor…). Anyhoo, upon getting Bizzy and Susan ready for their big day, Susan tells Addison the cancer is back but she wants to have her one day. Dr. Hottie knows. Addison keeps the secret, but while dancing at the reception, Susan collapses.

Other random notables:
– Dr. Hottie and Amelia had a nice dance. If she can’t get Sheldon, let her get something from the doctor, especially if Addison isn’t going there.
– Addison takes back her proposal and her and Sam ride off into the sunset, as if nothing ever happened.
– Violet is absent from everything, mentioned in passing as “being in NY meeting with her publisher.”

Next week: Lee McHenry is back. He’s been stabbed and it’s another case of ethics when Sam and Charlotte are on his case.

This was a great first episode back after a break. Addison and her many men, Naomi yelling at her, Sheldon at a crossroads and Charlotte gaining her identity back. It was all put together so wonderful with the wedding of Bizzy and Susan. I’m not a Bizzy fan, but when Bizzy finally gave her a sort of thank you to Addison and Addison smiled like a little girl, it warmed my heart. Addison is the way she is because of Bizzy so hopefully this will open her up more. Dr. Hottie is a nice addition but he needs to back off Addison. Let him go towards Amelia. But the best – BEST – part of this episode was Charlotte taking her life back. Her therapy didn’t work out but helping Sheldon was almost like therapy for her. She had Cooper by her side the entire time, he let her heal and she dealt with it. And of course next week Lee will come back.

So there ya have it. Thoughts? Will Susan survive (there was no hint in the previews)? Will Addison and Sam make it? Will Naomi ever stop being angry with her? Leave your two cents below!
