Something is creeping in McGarrett’s house. He catches a ninja trying to steal something, they fight and then he gets knocked out by a taser. The gang is all there is to help, and Danno is such a mother hen. They’ve stolen the mystery tool box that has all the information about his mother’s murder. McGarrett figures out that his sister is the leak about the box.

McGarrett and Danno race off to find Mary, and it looks like her place has been tossed too. She’s not there, and Steve has a bad feeling, especially when he sees the blood and a tooth.

Steve knows that Mary got taken along with the toolbox, so the team jumps on it. Isn’t this a conflict of interest or something? Mary called a surf legend that they knew when they were kids, and McGarrett tracks him down on the beach. He tells Steve that he told Mary the truth about their mother’s death and the apparent giant conspiracy going on in the HPD.

Mary calls Steve from the trunk of the car she’s in. They are able to get a partial trace and she gives him enough info to sort of find her. Off to the helicopter, which of course Steve can fly. Steve saves the day and rescues his sister, shooting the bad guy who’s in the way. Patched up, she apologizes to Steve for snooping in the box. By combining their knowledge, they figure out a couple of clues. Mary has been raising flags at HPD which may have put her in danger.

Luckily, she took pictures of everything in the box, and has additional insight into some of the meanings of the scribbles. The dead kidnappers are part of a punk local gang. At their hangout, McGarrett steals a Ducati and rides into the place and up the stairs. Gotta have a big showy entrance! They suss out who the third guy is, and send him off to jail. They need to go up the food chain. Kono finds the guy at the top of the chain, and the name matches a cipher text that his dad left behind. Eureka!

In typical McGarrett fashion he goes in all hot-headed and confronts the guy. He’s thrown for a loop when the governor shows up as the bad guy’s lunch date. She then shows up at Five-O HQ, and she reads him the riot act. McGarrett lays out the case for her though, and seems to have her convinced that he’s right. In a moment of comic genius, the governor asks Steve for a beer. She cautions him about going after such a powerful guy. First off McGarrett takes down the mid-level thugs hide out. CHK provides a lead to the cop that the surfer friend witnessed looking around the car that killed his mom. They’re on the beach asking him, when one of the guys that broke into Steve’s house walks up with a gun and starts shooting. McGarrett and Danno see him just in time and kill him, and of course they don’t have a scratch.

In the car, racing off to somewhere new, Danno talks McGarrett down from the ledge a little bit. McGarrett wants to rip into Hiro and Koji (bad guy and his brother who’s a former cop). They’ve got him on stealing and kidnapping but not murder. So they arrest Hiro, but can’t get Koji. The third player is Wo Fat (also the Iron Chef America chairman!) and something about him is hinky.

Steve takes Mary to the airport and they have a nice heartfelt good bye. But then McGarrett’s scowl is back, he’s back to work. Danno brings the news that Koji is dead, from a car accident no less. Hmmm. The plot thickens! Leave your TwoCents below.
