‘Twas two weeks before Christmas and all through the land,
TV had on special episodes, guest stars in hand.
The Office was set, Holly Flax back in the fold.
Who knows what this hour long show will hold.
Well, I know, cause I watched it. So, read on and we’ll all find out together.
Shannon is away right now, so I get to once again dust off the keyboard and do an Office R&R. I think this time I’m going to do a Cause and Reaction type feel. I’ll write a big show point, and then let you how my reaction. Sound good? I hope you’ll share you reactions below. Enjoy!
– Office Christmas Cards. Taking a photo trying to get everyone in. Then just like the prom or weddings, the need for a ‘silly’ pose too.
Reaction: No one likes the silly pose. Ever. Seriously – who likes it? Ever see the silly pose on the fridge? On the cover of the wedding album? No. Stop the silly poses people.
– Pam, as Office Administrator, is unofficially the head of the party planning committee.
Reaction: I forgot about the PPC. I’m glad it’s back. Oh wait, it’s gone. Pam killed it. Now I’m sad again.
-A fake tree is used, but Pam put a car air-freshener in there, so it smells real.
Reaction: I work on a Christmas tree farm. A small part of me just died.
– Sabre allowed Kelly, Minority Executive Trainee (remember that storyline?), to pick out the corporate Christmas gift to the staff. She picked Hello Kitty laptop sleeves.
Reaction: Yup, better than I though it would be.
– Rainn Wilson (Dwight) directed this episode.
Reaction: Awesome.
– Darryl made an iCarly reference to a special character.
Reaction: I’ve never seen the show. Was this an in-joke? Someone help me out here.
– After Jim made a snowball out of a dusting of snow and WAILED it on Dwight, Dwight challenged Jim to a snowball FIGHT the first REAL snowfall of Winter.
Reaction: I’d pay admission.
– Angela is dating a State Senator.
Reaction: Wait, what? When did that happen? Is that the dude from Heroes?
– Toby is taking a leave of absence. He’s serving on a big profile court case. Scranton Strangler!
Reaction: BRING ON HOLLY!
– Pam made Jim a comic book about himself as a special Christmas present cause his are always SO special.
Reaction: 1. I once again love Pam. 2. Jim is going to blow it with his gift, you just see it coming. 3. He’ll act like he blew it, but in the end something awesome will happen.
– Dwight sneak attacked Jim, hiding in a snow man. Jim got WRECKED with snowballs.
Reaction: THAT – WAS – AWESOME
– Holly is living with AJ.
Reaction: Not awesome.
– Darryl’s daughter is having issues with spending Christmas with Darryl instead of his wife.
Reaction: Poor Darryl. He’s great, you gotta feel for him.
– Dwight is dressed as Pam. Why? ANOTHER SNEAK SNOWBALL ATTACK! Jim got WRECKED with snowballs.
Reaction: STILL AWESOME.
– Michael and Holly have a big blow-out right in the middle of the office. Holly says she doesn’t feel for him anymore.
Reaction: Awkward.
– Round 3 of snowball fight to Dwight.
Reaction: Jim is gonna have an awesome comeback. No?
– Angela’s boyfriend is the guy from Heroes.
Reaction: Oscar thinks he’s gay.
– Jim and Pam gave each other gifts. Jim bought Pam an amazing bracelet. She loved it and he loved her comic book.
Reaction: Their reactions to each other is the JAM we all loved in the early seasons – happy holiday gifts to JAM fans!
– The closing button was Jim and Pam in a parking lot FULL of snowman. Would Dwight be in one?
Reaction: You’ll have to watch on Hulu to find out. π
I loved this episode. I wasn’t a huge fan of the past few Christmas episodes, but this one was great! Warn, funny, touching, JAM, all kinds of Office goodness. What you guys think? What were your reactions? Share your TwoCents below!

Best Office ep in atleast two seasons. It had the energy and pacing and randomness of the earliest seasons. Wilson should direct more.
So true Deryck!! So true!
This episode was a great The Office episode. The Jim Reacts, Dwight Overreacts response was amazing, but I totally felt for Jim. Dwight’s version of a snowball fight was not what Jim had planned – poor guy was cornered and bloodied!
During the opening, when Michael came in as Santa and he talked about “no drama” for once, I thought it was our first hint at the beginning of the end of Michael Scott on this show.
Great episode, amazing show, and good to see you back on this page, KP!!
Thanks Josh!
I feel like Jim should have seen all of that coming. He’s known Dwight and his over-reactions for how many years now? I think he deserved what he got, but I didn’t like seeing him be on the losing end of the Halpern/Shrute battle.
Exactly. I felt the same way. He’s known Dwight for a long time now. Every time Jim got beat down with snowballs, I thought more and more “Oh man, he’s gotta get him back SO BAD at the end of this”. He never did. Great episode, but I was sorely disappointed that Jim didn’t put more effort into one-upping Dwight.
Perhaps the return salvo hasn’t happened yet…… it could be coming!
I think Jim is showing the evolution of his character. He’s a father now, he’s married, he’s an adult, while Dwight will be the perpetual child.
Jim was scared, then mad, then when he felt good about himself through Pam’s gift, he tried to extend the olive branch.
Jim has always outsmarted Dwight, but Jim knows he will never be a match for Dwight’s aggression or level of fury.
