Relationships are being sorely tested this week. Will and his friend, Matthew Wade, who becomes a client. Kalinda and Blake take yet another step in the wrong direction. Alicia and Eli as Alicia learns of the voice mail Will left (and Eli deleted) at the end of S1. Zach listening to Becca (the teen she-devil of the show). Diane and Will, as Diane starts making plays to open her own firm.

In fact, this seemed more like a soap opera than a court procedural.

The firm has taken on Matthew’s case, a city official who is suspected of taking campaign contributions from terrorists. Big no-no. So Alicia and other team members are sent to listen to thousands of hours that the Feds have taped from phone taps. A little digging from Kalinda turns up the info that Matthew took a contribution from a neighborhood gang on the condition that a few buildings — which house their rival gang—be demolished. This new information and the fact that Matthew finds nothing wrong with this, dissolves Will’s friendship with him.

Of course, it’s Alicia who finds the most interesting audio clips. First, she learns that Eli is being tapped and she is told by her bosses not to tell him. Then she hears that one of the people on the tapes is White House aide Ruth Yamaguchi. That breaks the case, as the Feds don’t want to subpoena someone on Obama’s staff.

But the last conversation rocks Alicia’s world. It’s Matthew and Will and Will is admitting he had called a second time to tell Alicia he loved her. And it doesn’t take Alicia long to figure out the rat that erased that message — Eli.

But while Alicia is reeling (and Julianna Margulies does an amazing job as her armor cracks by this shocking news), Diane calls in Eli. She wants him to go with her new firm. But Eli remains loyal and wants to go where Alicia is. But he must realize that Alicia knew about the tap and didn’t say anything (she refused to talk to him on his cell phone). Wonder if that’s a shoe that’s going to drop down the road?

Talking about loyalty, Cary sure proves his friendship to Kalinda by telling the detective that her fingerprints were found at the scene of a crime—someone beat up the doctor in the antidepressant case (the one with Michael J. Fox). Kalinda is pretty sure it’s Blake and he used the bat she used to smash his car. Is Blake trying to get Kalinda arrested? The game between them is getting more and more deadly.

Meanwhile, Zach lets Becca convince him to make a video attacking Childs’ son. Is Eli the only one who realizes what a snake in tight jeans she is? Now Childs’ team thinks that the kids of the candidates are fair game and uses a video of Grace that looks bad. This doesn’t look as if it’s going anywhere good.

Will Alicia ever tell Will she knows about his message? Is Eli going to turn coat on Alicia? Do you want a large truck to make a pancake out of Becca? Give us your TwoCents….
