Let me just start off by saying that I laughed so hard during The Middle last night! The show jumps right in with Frankie (Patricia Heaton) running around the house on a Saturday morning with so many errands to run. (Don’t we all?) Anyway, Frankie insists on taking her smallest child Brick(Atticus Shafer) with her because he is too young to stay at home by his self which Brick disagrees with.
Meanwhile Mike (Frankie’s husband) is having his own girl drama with his geeky daughter Sue(Eden Sher). Mike(Neil Flynn) overhears that a girl is inviting a lot of girls over for a sleep over but not Sue because she is such a geek. This girl also invites all of Sue’s best friends without telling Sue anything. (We all know what the high school drama feels like!)
That night Frankie and Mike have a fight over why Frankie can’t do anything about the girl drama going on and Frankie said that “girl drama is like a mine and it will explode all over you”. Meanwhile as the show goes on Brick insist on staying home alone while Axl(Charlie McDermott), the oldest child of all is growing a beard for his varsity football team (not working out so well). Frankie finally decides to do a “test run” on letting Brick stay home and when she returns precisely 24 minutes later he has turned the oven on. The best part of the whole show is when she said “who uses the oven”. It turns out she has been using the oven for “bulky storage”. So the oven burns up two quilts she was keeping in there and that ended Bricks home alone journey.
Near the end Mike decides to do something about Sue’s “girl problems” and goes over to the mean girl’s house and has a man to man talk with her father. It turns out that the father is essentially a slave to the girl and does whatever she wants. (That wouldn’t happen if I had a daughter) Mike eventually loses the battle and decides to not tell Sue about secret sleepover and instead has a father daughter movie night. (Mike forces himself to watch Eclipse) In the last couple of minutes of the show Brick and Frankie connect with each other after the windows were left open while the car was being washed(which was a total mess) and learn that they both are growing as people and have to deal with that and Axl learns that he is not old enough to grow a beard yet(very embarrassing for him).
I really enjoyed this episode because it shows how we all grow up as people and what we have to deal with in our everyday lives. I think many people can relate to this show a lot because we all are just trying to get by. Did you enjoy this episode? Give me your two cents.

Welcome! Good recap!
