How smart is Miranda Cosgrove? Instead of fighting her Disney image with lurid, drunken public behavior, she takes a guest star role on TV’s best drama, one with a brilliant and respected cast.

Oh, there is the chuckle in that she’s playing the role of Sloan Burchfield, a Disney star who is trying to shed her wholesome image with wild behavior and underage drinking. It’s nice casting for The Good Wife, but even better for Cosgrove to act out on the screen rather than performing lap dances or going into rehab (you hear me Miley and Lindsey?).

When David Lee (the firm’s family law ace) asks her to sit in on a divorce, he seems to be using her because of her high public profile. But Alicia quickly earns the respect of the woman, the mother of Sloan and Milla (who is not a TV star). Sloan is going to court for her third DUI, which could be really serious. Even if Sloan is tweeting from the courtroom that she’s not wearing underwear.

But halfway through that trial, Cary comes in and informs the court that Sloan is charged with attempted murder. Seems when Sloan left a party drunk, she slammed her car into another that just happened to have in it the girl she argued with that night. But Kalinda once again saves the day with evidence that Milla was the one driving the car. Seems Milla and their mother let Sloan take the rap. That’s gonna make Turkey Day awkward, to say the least.

It’s certainly an episode of office politics. Alicia is getting a peer review, something the new partner Derrick insists on, and which will determines how money she gets. A few of her co-workers think Alicia is “stand offish” and that’s going to count against her. David is completely against it and it looks as if he’s making a move with Diane against Will and Derrick. Interesting, no? Are we headed for a showdown? Sure looked like it in the coming attractions.
Peter, of course, is always involved in politics, although it’s really Eli we see sweating it the most right now. The campaign is almost out of money. The Democratic Committee offers Peter a cushy, if meaningless, job if he drops out of the race. Peter says no — wow, I’m starting to actually starting to respect this guy. Who would have figured?

Meanwhile, Eli asks Pastor Isaiah for his endorsement, which the man refuses. But when Wendy Scott Carr asks as well, only more openly, Isaiah throws his support to Peter.

Unfortunately, the church board is more than a little angry that he didn’t back the black candidate and Isaiah looses his position.

What did you think of Cosgrove’s acting? Wasn’t it funny that Grace, Alicia’s daughter, went all ga-ga over the teen star? Do you think the firm is really going to split up? Give us your TwoCents…

I stopped watching this show a while ago but I’m a Miranda Cosgrove fan because she’s not all Lindsay Lohan-ed yet. I loved the jab at Disney (Miranda is a Nick star) and thought Miranda did a great job of showing her maturity as an actress. I think this a great way for her to shed her iCarly image without hitting a bar (or someone with her car).

iCarly had on Jane Lynch and Miranda went to Good Wife. I like it when totally different shows have other stars come on to show their different sides.

The ending of the show disappeared when the recording ended abruptly. What happened with the “bad girls” court case. Was her sister’s guilt revealed?
