It’s Thanksgiving on Wisteria Lane.  Unfortunately, it’s a whole lot of drama at dinner instead of family loving.

Susan, in still the worst career move ever, is at odds with Lynette.  Beth and Paul are getting closer, and it’s tearing Beth and Mama apart.  Bree tries to make nice with Mary, but it backfires.  And Gaby gets the Sanchez family in trouble with the law…

Felicia is using Beth to try to get Paul to confess to Martha Huber’s murder.  She suggests trying to question him after they’ve had sex and he’s…spent.  She tries by saying she talked to some neighbor who thinks he killed Martha and said some things about Felicia as well.  Paul won’t talk and he tells Beth Felicia Tillman is crazy.  “What kind of person cuts off their own fingers to frame someone for murder?”  Beth thinks he has a point.  During their Thanksgiving dinner, Beth tells Paul how she and her mama never had Thanksgiving because they didn’t have anything to be thankful for.  One year Beth invited a boy for dinner and her mother wouldn’t let her let him into the house.  So, is this a true story, or was Beth putting on a sad history in an attempt to get Paul to talk?  I couldn’t tell.

When Beth tells Felicia that she believes Paul didn’t kill Martha, Felicia freaks out.  She tells Beth she wants her to move out of Paul’s’ house immediately.  Beth refuses and Felicia starts screaming and has to be hauled out of the visitation room.

Renee invites Lynette and family over for Thanksgiving dinner.  She accepts, but says that Susan was going to spend dinner with them as well.  Renee allows Susan to come even though she doesn’t like that she is “poor and perky.”

Gaby has invited the Sanchez family for Thanksgiving dinner and forces Carlos to do all the cooking.  Her one job was to get the pies but she forgets.  Hector offers to drive her to the bakery but there’s an accident, so Gaby convinces him to drive on the shoulder.  When the cops pull him over Hector doesn’t have a license so they arrest him.  The Sanchez family is illegal.  Carmen takes off with Grace to go to Texas before the cops find her as well.  Gaby and Carlos hire Bob to try to help and in the meantime, Gaby convinces Carmen to stay with them until they work things out.  Bob says that Carmen has to either turn herself in or disappear.  Grace, however, was born in America, so she is an American citizen.  Gaby gets a look in her eyes.

Keith’s mother arrives at Bree’s house bearing flowers and an apology.  Bree invites her and Keith’s father for Thanksgiving dinner.  Keith isn’t thrilled by the invite – he wanted it to be just the two of them because he’s got the whole night planned.  When Bree leaves the room he pulls an engagement ring out of his nightstand.  Mary and Richard bicker through the entire dinner then Mary says she wants a divorce.  Bree goes to Keith’s apartment to comfort him and Richard is there.  While Keith is getting his coat for their walk, Richard pays Bree some lovely compliments, but they come off a little creepy.  And no sign of the ring from Keith.

Lynette and Susan disagree on the best way to get Paige to go to sleep.  Lynette’s for the let her cry herself to sleep method and it freaks Susan out.  Susan can’t handle listening to the baby cry so she quits.  She confesses to Lynette that she has to listen to MJ cry every night because he misses his dad and then she cries and she can’t listen to Paige cry because there’s too much crying in her life.  They kiss and make-up and apparently Susan keeps her job.

When Tom brings a pie over to Renee’s she answers in a towel.  He gets very flustered.  Apparently he’s seen her in a towel before (and remembers it quite clearly).  While Susan and Lynette are dealing with the crying issue, that leaves Tom and Renee alone.  Renee tells Tom its hard living on Wisteria Lane because she’s surrounded by married people.  Then she tells Tom she picks men who buy her pretty things instead of one she could raise a family with.  It’s a little awkward.

A so-so episode.  We do know two things.  We know Paul is right – Felicia is crazy.  But we also know Felicia is right, Paul did kill Martha.  So, where is this going to go?  Is Beth still going to do Mama’s bidding, or is Beth going to fall in love with Paul because he’s “nice to her?”

Gaby seems to think that she’s going to work Carmen into giving Grace over to her so that she can stay in the US.  Such a bad idea – anyone think it will work?  Leave me your two cents!  Desperate Housewives gets a few weeks off and will return December 5th.

  1. Farrah says:

I agree, the episode was so so. Now it makes sense why they brought up the Grace storyline in so early.

The Lynette/Susan stuff is getting to be too much. Why is Susan still working for her? It makes no sense.

I miss Bob and Lee. They make me smile.
