An old slave ship is found and the remains are brought to the Jeffersonian and we learn something about one of our squints. We also have Temp dabble in the dating scene as she tries to solve the case…and I think someone is j e a l o u s! Last but not least, Sweets and Daisy talk about their relationship and where it is going.
After the remains of a ship and its passengers are brought to the Jeffersonian, a pink funky organism is growing on one of the bones. Hodgins, the romantic that he is, tells Angela that if it is a new species he is going to name it after her. AWE!!! Are the writers trying to shift our love focus off of Booth and Bones over to Hodgins and Angela?
One of the best scenes for me is when Angela is on the floor of her office and she is drawing faces to each and every one of the passenger slaves that was on the ship. The room is filled with portraits of the slaves and very beautifully drawn. This was very eloquently done…hats off to the writers and directors.
We learn that one of the passengers on the manifest was named Haney…this so happens to be Cam’s grandmothers name. Yes, we learn later in the show that she was one of the bodies on the ship. In the end Tamara Taylor does a fabulous job showing the emotional heartache of saying her grandmothers’ name, along with the rest, to the families at the dedication.
On a lighter note: I liked how Sweets was given up as the virgin offering on the dating cruise boat. But what I am sure all the B & B shippers are noticing is that Booth showed some jealousy as Bones was being flirtatious and younger guys are hitting on her. We all know Booth has no right to be jealous, but we also know he can’t just shut off his feelings either…right?
Sweets and Daisy are having casual sex, but Sweets is thinking that maybe this is not what he wants. He wants more to a relationship. But as they discuss this…they really have nothing in common and realize they should not be together. But the mention of loving the show “Saved by the Bell” is enough to keep them together! Whaaat?? Really?? Um, that didn’t do it for me. Sorry.
Favorite moment: Hodgins visual of how the alien organism feeds on the bones. He takes a cannoli and sticks a straw into and sucks out all the yummy stuff. EXCELLENT!
Did you like the episode? Were you glad there was no Hannah? Were you as touched by the slave story as I? Leave me your two cents…please.

I don’t know if Booth was so much jealous as he was feeling a bit defensive about having the “aging warrior” status among these young studs. Personally, I’ve always preferred aging warrior.. what do you talk to a 24 year old about? Saved by the Bell? No thanks! I did like when Temperance was expressing her concern about his health and she came right out and said, “I care about you, Booth.”, because even that is more than she’s been willing to let out in the past.

I watched the show very late last night, might have to catch it again, because I missed the part where it was confirmed that Haney was Cam’s grandmother. To me it felt like, she had a connection (being a black woman, having a passenger on the ship w/ the same name as Gram) but was trying very hard from showing any personal connection outside of her private office.. maybe for professional reasons or maybe because she didn’t want her race to be the topic of discussion? I loved Angela’s sketches, though, the idea that she gave these people a face. I wanted Cam to see the drawing of Haney and be touched by it somehow.
Didn’t miss Hannah.. oh well.
Loved when they went to investigate the cougar cruise…especially the interaction between Seeley, Lance and the women on board. Great dialogue, great song playing (“Hope’s All There Is” by maxxfemm) and great mix of tension and humor ( you can watch it at http://vimeo.com/16782671 )
