Cold open: Oscar likes cycling enough to get a Lance Armstrong model bicycle. Michael has to demonstrate how well he can ride, but see he was used to those little wheels on the back that help you balance. The Armstong model doesn’t have those apparently since he crashes and burns in the parking lot.

Dwight and Jim go on a sales call together. When they walk in the lobby there’s the best salesman ever, Danny Cordray. Oh, also Pam dated him once. Jim calls Michael and asks him to come over and help out. The three go into the meeting with Steve Nash (not The Steve Nash)but he has decided to go with Danny. Curses!

Dwight plans to set up a sting by luring Danny to his surveillance camera filled office and seeing how he works. Meredith sits in as the boss and she’s overcome by his looks and things get heated. They send Oscar in as a pinch hitter to get Meredith out of there. Meredith says Oscar is the cleaning man and doesn’t speak English. They send Ryan in and Meredith says he’s another cleaning guy who doesn’t speak English. Michael goes in and busts up the sting. Danny is clearly creeped out and Michael corners him and offers him a job as a traveling salesman at Dunder Mifflin. He takes the job. The other salespeople are understandably upset by this because they’re afraid he’ll steal their sales. Also, Michael forgot about Todd Packer who is already their traveling salesman. Oops.

Andy is miffed because “Broccoli” Rob got a jingle for a milk campaign so he decides to start a band. He asks Darryl to play keyboards and Darryl agrees for $40 a session. They rehearse in the warehouse with Kevin on drums. The group jam and come up with a song about frogs called “Bullfroggy Love.” That was cute. Otherwise this whole plotline was a waste of time.

I found this episode rather boring, if I’m being honest. It’s the morning after the viewing and if it weren’t for revising this recap I’d have no recollection of this episode. Dull, boring, lame. What did you think? Leave your two cents in a comment.

What a bore. The Office is nowhere near its earlier actually funny versions. This one was another plodding script with a nonsensical story line and gratuitous sexual references. I know of real-life office situations that are a lot funnier than this one. Sorry, but I have to take The Office off my “must see” list.

I can completely understand that. It makes me sad, though.
