Mike’s lost a little weight, using portion control. His order at the diner is too funny, “just a whisper” of milk. He’s thinking about asking Molly out for a second date, bowling, which is Mike’s forte. He makes the grave mistake of thinking that Molly’s life is a little boring.
Cut to Molly and her mom trying to talk the crazy sister down from cutting off all her hair and sending it to her boyfriends wife. And at this point I look up the sisters name because I have a feeling I’m going to need it (PS it’s Victoria).
So when Mike calls Molly, she’s desperate to get out of the house. At the bowling alley, Mike is a pink peacock. And he gently teaches Molly a few pointers, at which point she throws a strike. And then another. She’s a ringer, and then Mike takes her to the diner. Molly and Samuel (the great waiter who likes to bust Mike’s balls) hit it off and quote Shakespeare to each other. Mike is clearly annoyed though, and he takes her home, leaves abruptly. What is his problem? Can’t take it that Molly was a better bowler than him apparently. Which is a serious character flaw so he needs to apologize and fix it, stat!
Mike goes to Carl for reassurance. He and his grandmother get to the root of things. Mike is upset that Molly beat him at bowling and is all smart with the languages and Shakespeare and such. Threatened his masculinity. Pathetic. At Molly’s house, Victoria is a mess over the married alcoholic guy who’s a jerk. And Molly loses it because she’s tired of being the supportive one. When Mike approaches the door, he overhears the craziness inside and steps in to mediate the situation. Which only partially works to soften Molly and he ends up getting hairspray to the eyes for his efforts.
So apparently Mike and Molly are on their third date at the bowling alley again, and when she gives him a high five he takes the opportunity to kiss her! Awww. Good for him.
Again, the show is growing on me but it still feels thin in places. What do you think? Share your TwoCents!

STILL FUNNY JUST SLIPPED A LITTLE OR MAYBE I JUST WASNT IN THE MOOD
This show has definitely gotten better and has potential. The self-deprivation humor aspect is realistic and I’m not drowning in the slapstick humor. So…I’m on board for now. 🙂
That’s the thing- I really like the main characters, they feel fully developed. It’s all the extras (like the sis and mom) that feel one dimensional and “cheap” to me. But I’m on board for now too!
