Tonight was one of my favorite episodes of each season. Makeovers! Of course, we had at least a couple hair meltdowns and angry girls, but what else is new?
Na, na, na, na, na, na…
Sara and Liz show off pictures of their kids and talk about how hard it was to leave them at home. Terra is still reeling from almost going home. She says that we will never see her in the bottom again. Tyra drops by and we get the usual high-pitched screaming. I’ll never understand that. I really like Tyra, but not THAT much! I just think it’s amusing. She tells them that they are getting their portfolios and how important it is to be marketable. She says that she’s about to make them all more edgy. Yep, makeovers! She gives them all hints and some are much happier than others. Liz and Terra are worried about their hair getting cut. It grows back, guys, relax! Tyra even basically told them not to be babies about it.
Later that night, Lexie, Ann and Rhianna make up a fake list of what the makeovers will be. The other girls fall for it and many get upset. Including Lexie, who puts on a brilliant act of sobbing about her red afro. At the Fred Segal salon the next morning, the Jays greet them and tell them they will get photos taken immediately to sell their new looks. Here is what each girl gets:
Ann – copper extensions – loves it!
Liz – very short & masculine – hates it!
Chelsey – tooth gap widened, icy blonde – loves it!
Sara – darker hair, bleached brows – hates it – fears son won’t know her!
Kendal – long weave
Terra – very short – inner meltdown – hates it!
Kayla – very red hair – embraces it, says her girlfriend will hate it, but that’s ok.
Chris – Beyonce type wavy curls – loves it!
Esther – darker hair – loves it, but wishes it was more different!
Jane – lightened and extensions – likes it!
Rhianna – super long blonde highlights – loves it!
Kasey – slicker style and contacts – loves it!
Lexie – darker extensions – doesn’t like it!
After the pictures, the Jays tell them that, based on some of the makeover reactions, another girl is being eliminated immediately. Lexie, Sara, and Terra are called out. Terra is eliminated. She wishes it would have been before they cut her hair. I tend to agree. That wasn’t fair. But them’s the breaks! Chris is upset, but gets over it, knowing it was going to happen eventually.
Back at the house, the girls get Tyra Mail. “It’s one thing to get on top, but can you stay there? Love, Tyra”. They all speculate what it might be. When they arrive, Jay is wearing black wings. They will all portray Fallen Angels who fall for male mortals. Bring on the male models. They’re all excited, except for Kayla, who says everything will be fine as long as they don’t have to get touchy-feely. They also have to choose an emotion to portray. Many of them struggle, but four do really well. Jay tells us that Liz is becoming a real diva. Sara has problems with her emotion and blames the male model. Lexie continues to be a boring letdown. Kasey went to the same school as one of the male models and flirts mercilessly, even though she has a boyfriend at home. Oh, the delicious drama!
At panel, Tyra calls the three girls out about the fake makeover list. The judges think it was brilliant and are amazed to find out it was Ann’s idea. The guest judge is Patricia Field. Except for the four successful photos, the judges are very disappointed with the dreckitude. Tyra tells them all they need to bring it. She says only four of them did really well and calls them out. The four are Ann, Kayla, Chelsey and Chris. Here are the results:
My Faves – Kayla & Chris
Top Three – Ann (Longing), Kayla (Evil), Chelsey (Mysterious)
Bottom Two – Lexie & Sara
Eliminated – Sara
I wished it would have been Lexie going home. I just don’t like her at all. But at least the drama is good for the show. I wasn’t crazy about Sara’s makeover anyway. I don’t get the dark hair and the bleached eyebrows.
Next week is an underwater shoot! I’m so excited! It’s not deep underwater, but still. If there’s water involved, I love it. In the meantime, please leave your comments below. I love to hear your two cents!
Next episode: Matthew Rolston

Anybody know where you can buy wings like the ones Jay wore?
Hmm, I’m not sure. I’m sure somewhere on the Internet you can. Google it!! 🙂
