This week Annie is snookered into being a chaperone for her niece that is planning a field trip to the Smithsonian. She will be taking a bunch of 3rd graders around the museum in a few days. Auggie, of course, thinks she is crazy for agreeing to do it.
Meanwhile some guy by the name Don Ridley is caught at customs with diamonds in his case he was smuggling in.
Joan tells Annie she is going to London to be the inside person to the diamond deals. She is to meet up with Vivian who is the go-to person. Annie’s cover will be the Smithsonian, of course, and she is the courier. She tells Danielle she can’t take the 3rd grade class, but arrangements will be made and someone will be taking them.
Annie is to act as though she has a gambling problem and when she meets Viv they hit it off and Viv offers to get her into a place where James Bond went.
Back at HQ: Henry Wilcox shows up…I thought I smelled something foul…yuk! He tells Arthur that he wants the leak plugged.
While interrogated, Ridley spills the beans to the location where diamonds are given to him. But when they check it out, everything is gone.
Now the plan is for Annie to lose at gambling so that she will be in need of money so that Viv will lead her to the bad guys. So while they are at the casino, she loses her money and the casino extends her $8 thousand dollars. She is drinking and losing her money and Viv is nervous. So Annie takes her last 2 chips and plays it on “snake eyes”….and wins!!!
Now let me just say this is hilarious as Auggie and Joan are waiting for the last of the money to be lost, but she ends up winning $30 grand!!! Everyone around Annie is happy, but she now lets it all ride for snake eyes, again. A couple other people join in on the bet, but this time she loses. She owes the house 8 grand and can’t leave the country till it is paid up.
Annie tells her sob story to Viv. Now Viv tells her she can help but really doesn’t want Annie to do what she is telling her because she likes her.
Danielle calls and wants to know why there is nobody there to do the tour. Annie calls Auggie and he gets right on it.
Annie meets with the chick in charge and while she takes another call, Annie gets one of her own. It is her niece saying how much she loves Auggie. Don’t we all? Now the thing here is that we see just how much Auggie likes Annie and is willing to do anything for her. You know he hated the fact of taking the kids around the Smithsonian, but steps up to the plate and does it…for her! By the way, how can a blind guy be a chaperone??? Danielle then gets on the phone loving Auggie as well, but Annie is listening to the other lady talking in another language about how they are going to kill Viv. The scene of the kids hanging on Aug is priceless!
At HQ Arthur stands his ground and overrides old man Wilcox and orders Jai to find Viv and protect her.
Meanwhile Annie does what Annie always does, she takes initiative and goes in to save Viv. Lots of shooting and Annie gets out of the building with Viv and is about to get shot at by the bad chick, when Jai opens fire and saves the day.
I thought this episode was going to be connected to the next one and that is why we were getting a 2hr finale, but I guess I was wrong. How did you like the episode? Do you hate old man Wilcox as much as me? Did you like Auggie stepping in and taking care of Annie’s family for her? Yep, me too!

IF YOU DID NOT SEE BOTH FINALE EPIS, DO NOT READ ME!!
I was close with my theory of why auggie was surrounded with kids. just had the wrong workplace for annie 😛
“Now the thing here is that we see just how much Auggie likes Annie and is willing to do anything for her.” Just one reason why I think his feelings will turn romantic before hers will. She’s a bit to self-involved and hung up on Ben (ewww) to even begin to think along those lines. btw, if Ben doesn’t die, i think he should hang out with Tash in Siberia. Would solve all the issues. And Auggie is WAY better than Ben Stiller (no offense to Ben…Stiller that is)
As for Wilcox, by the end of this epi, I had all kinds of foul words for him that I won’t sully this nice recap with. And by the end of the other epi, they just all got capitalized with lots of exclamation points and underlines.
As for the duality of the finale, I’m thinking it was probably done b/c the fall shows start next week, and I for one am glad of it because i already have all kinds of dvr issues just because Warehouse 13 is ending next week instead of this week. Don’t know why Syfy is ending the three shows i watch in 3 different weeks. It’s weird. Although USA did the same thing to me…
I would have like to have seen more of the tour but hey I guess it’s not that integral to the plot! It was great seeing Anna Chlumsky (sp?) again she looked exactly the same! They keep pairing Annie off with these interesting female characters (Like Sophie on What is… was sad to see her die!), and I like that. I also found Natasha a great character, and I’m starting to think they have more dimension than our lead, which is kind of sad.
I know some people find the continuing story arc more interesting (Ben, the leak etc.) but I’m enjoying the story of the week format more and more.
I forgot to mention, I really liked when Annie knocked that guy right in the face after he hit her tooth. About time she gets a good solid hit on someone and knocks ’em flat
I thought Anna “My Girl” Chlumsky was convincing as the mousey embassy chick. I didn’t even know until I saw her name flashed by in the credits. But she kinda looks like Topanga circa Boy Meets World.
Old man Wilcox maybe a douche, but every show needs a villain.
And I thought some of the green screen work was obvious, particularly the meet at the park.
Auggie, Annie’s family and the third graders? Hilarious! Great choice of screen cap, btw 🙂
as I said in the other post, I loved how Auggie took over for Annie in chaperoning. I am sure Danielle will be bringing up his name in future eps and the tension will start to build. But like I said previously…I don’t want hookups to actually for quite some time.
thanks, glad you like the screen cap..I thought it was a good choice.
Topanga..lol..I like it!
Like I said in other post…maybe danielle will bring up Aug’s name and the tension will start to build.
I can’t stand Henry Wilcox, but I love Gregory Itzin. He plays an awesome bad guy. Been a huge fan ever since he was President Logan on 24. Great recap! 🙂
