Is a prequel on the horizon for Burn Notice? According to Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva, USA announced this weekend Burn Notice is getting a movie. The film will not focus on the shows current star Jeffrey Donovan, but rather on ex-Navy Seal Sam Axe. The movie will follow the exploits of Axe, played by horror movie icon Bruce Campbell, as a Special Forces soldier.
Bruce Campbell got his start working on director Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead in 1981. Reprising the role of Ash in Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, Campbell attained the status of a cult horror film star. Campbell also wrote and autobiography titled My Name is Bruce, which he released in 2007.
USA Network’s President of Original Programming Jeff Wachtel made the announcement during Comic-Con in San Diego this past week. And for those of you out there hoping for Axe to get his own spin-off, sorry. Wachtel stated that the prequel is being developed as an original movie, not a pilot for a new series.

Um…Sam has never been an FBI agent. And in the first season, he was informing on Michael to the FBI on occasion, but that’s no longer the case.
Thanks for the info. We fixed the mistake.
