After much anticipation, the final season of Hannah Montana is here. Disney has come up with the clever name of Hannah Montana Forever, meaning that the show, while it may be ending soon, will go on forever. I happen to believe that this is true. I may be 23, but I find the storylines, music, and characters so exciting, and I’m not in any way ashamed to admit that I’m a fan of Miley Cyrus and her Hannah Montana character!

The episode starts with Miley, Jackson, and Robby Ray moving in to their new house overlooking the pier. When they walk in, Miley is amazed by all the new furniture, and Jackson has no trouble whatsoever settling in to his new place. Lilly is also still living with Miley at this time. Remember last season, her mother moved away and she didn’t want to live with her father? Well, that’s still the storyline. Robby Ray is super excited to show off all the new furniture and cannot wait for Miley and Lilly to see their new room. When they walk in, it is PINK. Now, it’s not just a little pink…EVERYTHING in the room is pink including the singing stuffed animals and the bunk bed. Lilly is less than thrilled, but Miley remembers visiting her home back in Tennessee; where her room was exactly this. She had said, “I love this room and wish I could pack it up and bring it with me.” Well, that’s exactly what Robby Ray does.

Meanwhile, their neighbor, TJ (Angus T. Jones from Two and a Half Men) comes over with some pie, and his supermodel cousin. He has no filter and doesn’t think before he speaks, offending Jackson and Robby Ray right off the bat. Also, a group of girls from Miley’s school stop by to see the house, and Robby Ray offers to let them spend the night in the upcoming weekend. He always digs himself into holes too deep for even the tallest person in the world to climb out of…

The girls all go down to the pier where Lilly now works, and Miley and her try to come up with a plan to get a new bedroom set. Miley sets her sights on a light up jacket which reminded her of one that her father hated when she was younger. She asked Lilly to get it for her, but Lilly didn’t want to lose her new job and needed 50,000 tickets. A young girl comes up to the gift counter and wants a giant tiger that costs the same amount, and Miley tries to get the tickets from her. The girl refuses, but they soon find out that she’s a Hannah Montana fan. Miley leaves, dresses up as Hannah, and comes back singing a new song, which I’m assuming is titled “Are You Ready.” I LOVED IT. It was fun, upbeat, and cheerful. The girl ends up giving Hannah the tickets and her and Lilly bring the jacket home to her dad.

Meanwhile, Jackson is fed up with TJ, and forces him to leave once he realizes that TJ’s cousin has a boyfriend. She shows up at the door crying that she is now single, and Jackson and TJ leave with her to cheer her up.

Finally, Robby Ray realizes that the girls don’t like the bedroom, since Lilly exclaimed it loud and clear, and allowed them to re-decorate any way they see fit. Who knows? Maybe they’ll end up living in the barn. (They thought it would be further away from Jackson). They also cancelled the sleep over that Robby Ray wanted to have.

I thought this was a wonderful way to bring in the new season! Let me know what you all thought. Leave your TwoCents in the comments or email me at faye@thetwocentscorp.com. I’ll see you all next week for what looks like to be a WONDERFUL new episode!

I’m a closeted Hannah Montana fan (my 10 year old niece got me hooked). However, with Miley’s real-life antics, I wish they would have used the movie to end the show and be dunzo with it. With the adult public (and teens who can read) knowing she doesn’t want to be on it anymore, this whole season is a sham and this first episode showed us as much. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would, considering it was the first episode of the final season. Although nice guest spot by Angus T. Jones.

The whole “Forever” part…that doesn’t make sense to me. Miley is quoted as saying as soon as it ends, Hannah will be taken off of TV and out of the Disney rotation so she can move on with her life. Not sure if that can even be done but who knows.

Suite Life on Deck will get higher ratings now I’m sure. HA.

Why did they decide to sleep in the barn?
