Britney Spears is the latest pop star to get the full Glee treatment. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Glee creator Ryan Murphy is planning an episode featuring a collection of Spears’ hit songs.
Last April, a Twitter campaign by Spears’ manager was started to get the pop singer an entire episode on the show, which now has proven to be successful. No word on whether Spears will make an appearance during the episode.
Spears will be following in the footsteps of two other female pop stars, Madonna and Lady Gaga, both of whom had episodes surrounding their music this past season.
Meanwhile, the show’s producers are denying recent reports that Oscar-winning Spanish actor, Javier Bardem will be guest-starring on the show.
Glee had much to celebrate this week, as it received a total of 19 Emmy nods, the most for any other scripted series.
My Two Cents: The Madonna and Lady Gaga episodes went over well, but I would be apprehensive if this turned into a common occurrence, with every episode each week paying tribute to another singer, becoming too gimmicky.
Is Britney Spears worthy of an entire Glee episode? Give your two cents below.
