Last week was the big custody trial. So this week we’ll see the fallout from that. Violet knows Pete loves her (as do we all), Sam is still in love with Addison (will he ever stop?), we now know Amelia isn’t going anywhere and Cooper said Violet shouldn’t be a mother.

From the previews, William comes back, Pete wants to punch out Fife (I can only assume it’s over the Naomi/William situation), Maya goes in to labor and Sheldon wants Charlotte. This is also the episode leading up to the season finale, so you know it’s gonna be a good one!

Addison is on her back patio thinking when Sam comes out on his balcony. You know, the balcony he hates coming out on? But Pete’s not around, so it’s okay. I guess. He says Pete must be happy, now that he has Lucas (and her, duh). Sam says “he [Pete] won.” Meaning, he’s still got Addy. Pete comes out on Addy’s balcony asking her to come to bed and Sam goes inside. In another house, Charlotte and Cooper are out of breath after an insane go at it in the sack (and a super funny but not appropriate for TTC sexual remark). Instead of talking about it, they just have more sex. Violet has an appointment with a mean patient and is talking to Dell (yay! Dell is around again!) when Maya comes in for a sonogram. She’s eight months pregnant already?? Coop tries to talk to Violet about what happened with Charlotte and she won’t talk to him. Violet goes in to her office and her mean patient is being super nice. Hugging Violet, making out with her husband, doing charity work … and her husband thinks she’s crazy. She says she’s found god. In other news, Naomi brings in an obviously much sicker William to their office. He can barely walk and Naomi wants him to keep fighting but she thinks he’s come back to the US to die. At the hospital, Addison meets with a father and daughter. The daughter has been having a lot of back pain and is 30 weeks pregnant. The father, George, says they live on a farm and she hasn’t had any prenatal care. He’s acting very weird and wants to leave very quickly and get back. But they can’t because she has an aneurism and needs surgery – and a family history. George is asking super odd questions and refuses to leave his daughter’s side. See where it’s going? Naomi visits Fife to apologize and ask her to use his protocol on William, despite it not being approved yet. Kim (the pregnant girl) needs surgery ASAP, especially after the second scans came back. She also tested positive for a disease that comes from the father. There’s no way the man with her is her father but Sam and Addy don’t know who she is. Violet calls on Amelia to do a scan of the Claire (the mean patient)’s brain and while waiting they discuss if people can change or not. Violet says yes, Amelia says no. And she’s right – Claire has a brain tumor.

Sheldon is in Oceanside’s breakroom eating breakfast (because Naomi doesn’t let them have cereal with marshmallows – ha) and Coop asks him how to talk to Violet because she’s being really mean to him. Sheldon says to “keep on keepin’ on.” Dell is doing Maya’s sonogram and tells her a big secret – he got into UCLA Medical School! Wahoo! He’s keeping it a secret though. Naomi shows up for the appointment (finally – she’s doing something!) and asks if Maya has any questions. She says no, she’s got it all planned out. Natural birth, no drugs, birthing plan, mix CD. She tells Naomi her not being around helped her out and grow up. Addison and Sheldon are in the elevator together and Sheldon stops the elevator this time. Since Sheldon sent her a bill, she’s going to send him one back … for a pap smear, delivering his baby (it’s truly hilarious!). Sheldon tells Addison he’s in love with Charlotte and doesn’t know what to do. She tells him to man up and go for it. Sam tells George and Kim that Kim needs one more test and George can’t go because it’s in radiology. Violet tells Claire about the tumor and has Amelia with her to describe the medical part of it. Amelia tries explaining that nothing she is experiencing is real, it’s all just nerves reacting with each other and she’s okay with that. Amelia says if she keeps living the way she is, enjoying the happiness she feels, she will die. Claire says if it’s god’s plan for her to die happy, so be it. Sam and Addison don’t take Kim to radiology, they take her to Sheldon. Fife visits Naomi and tells her that if he gives William the protocol, it can never be approved. Naomi say without it, he will die. Fife pretty much says oh well.

Violet and Amelia are debating Claire and the tumor. Violet thinks she should keep the tumor in and Amelia says she should take it out. Violet thinks she should keep it in to stay happy and die happy. Amelia disagrees completely so she won’t die and says she will “do god’s work for him.” Sheldon is talking with Kim, trying to get to the bottom of things. Kim says her mother is dead and she has a “special relationship” with her father and keeps looking at the door. Sheldon tells her about the disease and she says her father says that doctors are usually wrong about things. Sheldon debriefs with Sam and Addy that Kim doesn’t remember watching TV, know what the internet is and that her answers seemed well-rehearsed. Sheldon suggests calling the police. George tries to take Kim away and Sam holds him off. Addy holds back Kim and she passes out and when Sam runs to help her, George runs away. Charlotte comes to talk to Cooper about what happened (and “them”) and he can’t get any words out. Naomi goes to William and he says he just wants to enjoy their time together. Pete overhears their conversation. Amelia catches up with Claire and her husband and she says she doesn’t want to go back to that old person she used to be and that Amelia doesn’t understand. Amelia tells Claire about watching her father being murdered (did we know this from Grey’s??) and how she went into a dark place and turned to “happy pills.” But eventually the pills nearly killed her and she realized that dying happy is not a good feeling. DYING SUCKS. She doesn’t believe that people can change but maybe she is wrong. But if Claire doesn’t have the surgery she’ll never know because she’ll be rotting in the ground. Her little speech works and Claire agrees to the surgery.

Sam and Addy are doing Kim’s surgery and they make a great team in the operating room. As usual. They always make a great, well, anything together! Violet talks with Claire’s husband before the surgery and he says things aren’t going to be okay when Claire goes back to how she used to be. Since Violet believes people can change, she feels that this new Claire will come out somehow. Charlotte goes to Sheldon all upset about Sheldon telling her to go after Coop. He tells her she should expect more from a man in her life and gives her a speech that he can be that man – and asks her to dinner. They both get these huge cutesy smiles on their faces. All together now – AW. Addy and Sam are talking after surgery about how great they did in surgery and Sam tells her he can be friends with her, but they’ll never be more than that. And he’s okay with that now. Pete goes to Fife about the protocol and why he truly is not giving it to William. Pete goes to punch Fife and Fife tells him he’s sick of being the guy that never gets the girl and now he’ll be able to when William dies. Pete tells him the chair isn’t what makes him small. Coop corners Violet in her office to discuss their friendship (they have a lot of history – some of it is quite funny) and forgiveness. Friendship and love … it’s about forgiveness. Kim wakes up and asks where George is. She says she loves him (ew) and Addy and Sam tell her that her real parents are being lcoated. Violet and Amelia are on their way to visit Claire and she’s back to her mean old self. She tells Amelia she should have let her die happy.

Sheldon, Addison and Sam talk about Kim. She was held by George for 15 years so he became all she knew. She has no feelings for her old life, including her parents or old beliefs. After Cooper’s lecture, Violet goes to Pete and asks for forgiveness – when he’s ready. She says she should have asked for help instead of taking him to court (or even leaving him to begin with) and she shouldn’t have expected him to trust her since she didn’t trust him. She keeps calling it “lean in” and honestly, I’m just over Violet. Pete says they’ll start with overnight visits for Lucas and is all teary-eyed. Oh, do you see it coming? I see it coming. They hug and Violet leaves. Fife goes to Naomi and admits to saying no for all the wrong reasons. He’s in love with her and no matter what he does, he can’t compete with William because he’s dying. Since he is in love with her, he doesn’t want to hurt her and if William dies, she’ll hurt and so he has the protocol prepared. It will be ready within an hour. She apologizes for making him compromise his research. He tells her he had a choice to make and so did she. He just hopes she can live with hers. Addison visits Kim who is watching TV and it triggers a memory of her childhood. Addy tells her in time her memories will probably come back. Kim says George loves her and Addison tells her sometimes people confuse love for other things – like not wanting to be alone (hello! Eyes open here…). Violet visits Claire but she doesn’t want to talk to her. Violet tells her she had a rare opportunity to see another side of her soul and she needs to stop being afraid of going to the other side. Claire says she’s afraid and Violet says she’ll help her. Dell gets to Maya who is in labor. When the pain kicks in, she throws her birthing plan outside the window and wants doctors and pain medication like normal people.

A quick view of Fife looking at Naomi with William. Fife is sad. At the hospital, Kim’s parents arrive. Her actual name is Laney. It’s an awkward reunion. Addy gets a call from Dell that Maya wants Addy to deliver the baby. Addy is with Sam and they are going to meet Dell and Maya in the ER. Coop goes to Violet’s office who has made a picnic for him to honor their friendship. Violet tells Coop to talk about Charlotte and he doesn’t want to. She tells him that Charlotte left with Sheldon and if he loves her, go get her – NOW. Go after her. Addy and Sam are waiting outside the ER when an ambulance comes in with guy from a head-on surgeon. They ask for Sam’s help. OH NO. Please, tell me I’m not gonna see what I think I see coming…a team of nurses and doctors come out and Addy asks what’s going on? Nurse says they had to fly in the victims from the other vehicle. A helicopter arrives and Dell walks out, his arm in a sling. He talks to Addy and then Maya comes behind him, on a stretcher. Addy stands there in shock. As do I. THAT. JUST. HAPPENED.

Next week is the season finale. Violet has to tell Naomi about Maya. Addison has to operate on Maya and the baby (and save them both) while Sam is operating on the guy who hit Dell and Maya. Oh, and Coop proposes to Charlotte.

Holy moly. What an episode! Let’s just start with the ending. OH EM GEE! I can’t believe they’re going out like that. Dell is never going to forgive himself for this. First the fire, now this? Oh dear. Violet asking Pete for forgiveness and beginning to rebuild their relationship is going to bring them back together (in some way) and throw Addy to Sam. And with Maya’s situation, Sam will be vulnerable. When it comes to William and Fife, will Fife get Naomi after he dies? Not so sure but I hope so. I think Naomi is only staying with William now so she can help him. I truly think she liked Fife more than William and had she never found out he was sick, she would’ve stayed with Fife. And on the Coop/Sheldon/Charlotte front, I’m a believer that Coop’s time has run out and he has run out of chances. So now it’s Sheldon’s turn to be Charlotte’s man. What do you think? Leave your two cents below!

Line of the night: “You once told a woman I had just started dating that I have a very small nightstick … which is unforgivable and also a lie. And I let it slide.” – Cooper to Violet while talking about friendship and forgiveness
