Evil Jen is back!
Our favorite 90210-ers react (appropriately) with shock, horror, and –in the case of Ryan Mathews, lots and lots of alcohol.
In other news, Dixon and Ivy get closer, Silver meets Teddy’s famous father, and the Wilsons grow farther apart.
Naomi and Evil Jen
Naomi is terrified that her conniving older sister Jen has returned with a clear agenda for revenge! Liam wisely advises Naomi to calm the heck down and to not antagonize Jen. Of course, Jen doesn’t help by evicting Naomi and buying her house and then convincing their long-absent parents to give Jen full control of Naomi’s trust fund. Yikes.
Evil Jen explains to Naomi that she’s trying to ruin Naomi’s life because she doesn’t want Naomi to tell Olivier (her formerly philandering French hubbie) about Evil Jen’s antics last year (ie. sleeping with her sister’s 16-year old boyfriend, etc…). How does that make any sense?
Evil Jen apologizes to Naomi and begs for them to reconcile. I don’t really believe her, considering that last episode she essentially said “Hi Naomi. I want to ruin your life now. Stay tuned!”
Inevitably, Naomi tells Olivier about Evil Jen’s year of living whorishly. An indignant Olivier marches off in a huff (but wait –didn’t he cheat on her? Repeatedly?) and into the arms of another woman. This turns out to fit Evil Jen’s plan perfectly since she hired a PI to take photos and can now win a ten million euro divorce settlement.
Teddy and Silver
Teddy apologizes to Silver for not telling his father that he had a girlfriend. He tries to make amends by inviting her over for an “official introduction.” Of course, this goes terribly, with Silver’s vegetarian, earthy crunchy ways clashing with the meat-grilling movie actor’s brazen personality. Silver mistakes Spence’s twentysomething girlfriend for his daughter (strike one), criticizes one of his movies for negatively portraying middle easterners (strike two), and just as we think Spence is about to call security, he seems to get a kick out of her spunk and lighten up. After dinner, however, Spence tells Teddy that Silver is “cool”, but Teddy needs to dump her asap if he wants to be a tennis pro. Obviously conflicted, Teddy blows off a confused Silver the next day, but comes around in the end to apologize and tell her that tennis superstardom means nothing without her. He admits that he loves her (awwww…).
Liam and Dad
In a plot development that surprises absolutely nobody, Liam’s good-for-nothing Dad runs off with the valuable collector coins that Liam stole for him. Liam is heartbroken and angry at himself for believing that his father wanted the money to rent an apartment so the two of them could live together. He’s terribly disappointed, so I’m sort of hoping that Papa Liam really was coming back for Liam and just got hit by a bus or something.
Adrianna and Navid
Music producer Laurel wants Adrianna to sing a duet with Latino superstar “Javier!” The duet lyrics involve rhyming eyes and thighs and is just very, very bad. Ade offers to write a new song in two days. No pressure, there.
Ade is stuck with writer’s block until she has a pep talk from Navid and the two of them run off to frolic on the pier. It’s clear that he still has feelings for her, despite his girlfriend Lila turning out to be pretty decent. Ade and Navid run into Mr. Mathews, who was so traumatized by seeing Evil Jen and her hubster that he has gotten mind-shatteringly drunk and soiled himself with mustard. What does it say about this character that I really only enjoy him when he’s intoxicated?
Navid does the honorable thing by telling Lila that as much as he likes her, he still has feelings for Adrianna and that they should break up. She takes it like a champ.
Ade and Javier record their catchy pop duet. They have great chemistry and Javi immediately starts asking “ooh, did you write this song for your boyfriend?” and “behold my dimples and nonthreatening sexuality!” Navid shows up with flowers, only to observe the budding connection.
The Wilsons
Dix is still grounded, but realizes that his house arrest doesn’t mean that he can’t have ladies over. He lights candles and makes dinner on a night where his parents are out and invites Ivy over to apologize for blowing her off during his gambling bender. The romantic moment is killed when his parents return and he and Ivy start frantically trying to blow out candles. I would love to see Dix explain to his parents—“yeah, I was just sitting here, having an aromatherapy moment. Doing some automatic writing in my feelings diary…”
Debbie and Harry come home early from their “night out” because Debbie forgot the marriage counselor’s address. Annie calls her parents out for lying about their troubles and says she knows that Debbie kissed another man. Terrible awkwardness ensues. The parentals head out for their session, Dix blows Annie off (because he has to go apologize to Ivy for blowing her off – pattern?). Ivy overheard the whole exchange, which leads to some nice bonding between the two.
Annie pops over to Liam’s to vent and help him work on his rage boat. He hands her a paintbrush and they smile sweetly at one another.

I love Dixon/Ivy together.
Jen needs to go away.
Can’t wait to see Liam and Annie get it on now that he’s realized how self-absorbed Naomi is.
Odds say Navid and Ade are together by the end of the season.
How will Debbie handle being a single mom next year?
I might, MIGHT, actually stick around to watch. LOL
I agree on most fronts! Dix and Ivy were refreshingly functional/supportive. And yes, Jen needs to go away. How can we get rid of her? Maybe SHE was the real hit and run driver behind Annie’s accident last season?
