Lynn Redgrave died last night in Manhattan at 67 after a 7 year battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family.
Mostly known for her work in film, she made several notable appearances on television in recent years including roles on Ugly Betty, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Desperate Housewives, as well as a starring role in the short lived 1989 series “Chicken Soup” based on the best selling book “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”
She was a two-time Oscar® nominee, for “Georgy Girl” and “Gods and Monsters”, and was nominated for three Tony awards for her stage work on Broadway.
Ms. Redgrave was the younger sister of actress Vanessa Redgrave and aunt of the late actress Natasha Richardson, who died last year after receiving head injuries in a skiing accident.
