If you’ll remember, and I’m sure you do, last week we got the back story on Eddie and how he became the Fairview Strangler. It was a very sad story and when we left off at the end of the episode, Eddie had agreed to move in with Tom and Lynette. Now we know no good can come from this – it is, after all, Desperate Housewives.
Let us not forget that Patrick Logan is also skulking around Fairview, and no good can come from that either. So there are two psychopaths running around Wisteria Lane. Is anyone safe? Read on to find out.
Patrick is still showing up at the coffee shop and making nicey-nice with Danny. He’s there when Nic comes in to talk to Danny and overhears them discussing Nic’s running (I’m guessing at this because there was no sound at the beginning of the episode and my lip reading leaves a bit to be desired). When Nic goes out for his run, Logan runs him over with his car (wait, hasn’t this been done before? – Orson ran over Mike). Nic survives and although he didn’t see who hit him, he’s sure it’s Patrick. He wants Angie and Danny to leave town and go to the safe place they’ve talked about. Of course Angie is being all tough and says she want go without Nic, but she does send Danny. She decides to late that she should go to the safe place, because when she goes home to pack, Patrick is waiting for her. He also lit a whole bunch of candles and put them around the house –weird and for what purpose may I ask? Anyway, he claims he’s not going to kill her – that he just wants her to do him a favor. Then he spends the night. Anyone else believe he’s not going to kill any of the Bolens? Yeah, me neither.
Eddie is being the perfect child – going grocery shopping and doing the laundry. Unfortunately, Porter is not behaving quite as well as Eddie and when he mouths off to Lynette, Eddie attacks him. Lynette talks to him about growing up with an alcoholic mother and what she was taught by her school counselor to control the anger. Eddie starts freaking out when Tom comes home cranky and takes it out on Lynette. When Tom finds out that Eddie attacked Porter he wants to kick him out – instead they decide to pay for his therapy. It’s at this therapy that Lynette promises to get Eddie’s mother to attend to help with his recovery – oh wait, she’s dead, probably not going to happen. Lynette finds out from one of Barbara’s neighbors that she hasn’t been seen in a few days – no kidding.
Bree and Sam are grocery shopping and she sees him having a heated discussion with a woman working at the store. Bree returns to the store to talk to the woman (Lillian). As I suspected, she’s Sam’s mother. She tells Bree that Rex wanted full custody of Sam, but Lillian said no. Sam never knew until just a few months ago when he found the letter and was “livid.” Orson gloats to Bree about being right about Sam. Again, he doesn’t get much screen time, but his moments are the funniest of the show. When Bree confronts Sam about lying about his mother he gets completely enraged and throws a vase against the wall – temper, temper. Bree apologizes to Andrew for not believing him about Sam and she admits to Andrew and Orson that she’s afraid of Sam. So there’s actually a third psychopath running around Wisteria Lane. Seriously people, stay far, far away!
Gaby and Susan are in cahoots again. Susan’s trying to flaunt an inherited grand piano in Gaby’s face as an extravagant purchase, while Gaby is trying to buy a ski chalet in Aspen except Carlos gave all their money to Mike. When the ladies find out all the secrets an evil plan is hatched. At a dinner party, wild accusations fly about extravagant purchases and affairs until the whole truth comes out. Mike tells Susan that she can help him and he gives her a shoebox full of papers. But we still don’t know why he’s in such debt. Why the big secret?
I’m not sure what the title of this episode had to do with what actually happened – and it was just an ok episode. There was just a little bit too much going on with all the different stories and it seemed like they all got short changed a little bit. I am glad that Bree now sees Sam for what he really is and that Orson and Andrew are supporting her and trying to find a way to get rid of him. I would have liked to see the Sam story develop just a little bit more, but I guess we are running out of weeks. Speaking of which, anyone have any ideas how these story lines will end up? Will everyone survive to next season, or are some (or all) of the Bolens going to die at the hands of creepy Patrick Logan? What about Eddie? Will someone figure out his secret before someone else becomes a victim? Leave me your two cents!

I’m so bored with this show and just waiting for the season to end. Seriously…these storylines are getting ridiculous although I love a funny Susan storyline every once in a while. How many hit and runs can we have? URGH.
I know you’ve been frustrated with this show all season – why do you still watch? Is it like a train wreck – you don’t want to look, but you just have to?
This episode was a bit odd – it’s like they have a couple really great episodes interspersed with just so ho-hum ones. Only a few more left, I hope they get better and it’s not all rushed to get everything in before the season ends.
I’ve invested SO much time (been watching since the very first episode) and somewhere inside I’m hoping it turns around, although I know it won’t.
Also, it was like LOST .. it had an ending date (May 2011) and even though it wasn’t so great, I was holding out knowing it would end. I remember Marc Cherry saying he had already written the last episode and was writing backwards knowing how it would end. But then with the extension, it was like, UGH, seriously? But the Housewives haven’t signed on, so what will happen?
But it’s like you said .. they’ll have some great episodes and then some horrible ones and some okay ones. Last week’s Eddie one was great then this week’s was like WTH?
I’m holding out that if the girls don’t sign on the show will go back to its original ending date of May 2011 and give us a nicely wrapped up show.
