So, Luc got his green card, yay! Michelle is pregnant, yay! Robert has a secret job, yay? Justin wants to go back to war, yay?

So many things are going on and changing for the Walker clan and tonight seems like it’s going to be another great episode. It includes an intense Walker tennis match!

Sarah and Luc arrive at Nora’s to stay for three days while she is having her house repainted. She tells Nora that Cooper is going a bit nutty with everything. Nora congratulates Luc on becoming a “Pasadenian” and when Nora asks Sarah how the drilling at Narrow Lake is going, Cooper pretends to be drilling (it’s quite annoying). So Luc tells Cooper to behave while Sarah and Nora are talking and Cooper is disrespectful to him. Luc and Nora both question the punishment (a “time out”). Sarah is nervous about the drilling at Narrow Lake because she is betting the entire company on it. It’s obvious that Sarah and Luc are not having a great go of it. Saul and Scotty are talking about opening their restaurant while Kevin listens on, offended that Scotty won’t hire him on in the future as his lawyer (Kevin is also upset about being unemployed). Creepy guy Joe is talking with Robert about catching some important guy cheating. He’s going to be a tennis tournament at the country club the next day. Kitty calls to ask Robert about the campaign while Joe is still there and Joe tells Robert to not worry about Kitty and her campaign – she has no chance of winning anyway. Robert tells him to never bet against Kitty. Aw. Rebecca is all dolled up to go to the bungalow she wants to buy (which Justin still isn’t on board with) but he is staying home and cooking lasagna for his friend’s widow. Justin tells her to go check out “her” house but she corrects him … it’s “their” house. Not so much Rebecca – wake up!

Kevin comes to Nora’s because “unemployed losers hang out in their mother’s kitchen.” Sarah tells Kevin that she and Luc are fighting so Kevin busts out the wine. Robert comes in with Evan and tells them he has to go play tennis and Sarah and Kevin do this tennis cheer – the return of KevRah. Nora tells Cooper to play outside while he’s playing video games with Justin. He’s there to make soup for Jake (his friend)’s widow. Kevin and Sarah are trying to convince Robert to take them with him to the club and Nora convinces them to bring Luc along as well. Rebecca is all excited about the house and is talking to Holly about it. Holly tells Rebecca to take some of her money back and put an offer in. Justin, meanwhile, is having the exact opposite conversation with Nora about how Rebecca is “just looking” and they’re not going to buy anything. Justin is wearing his dog tags and Nora wonders why and if he’s all right. She also wants him to take his dog tags off. Cooper is soaking wet after jumping into the pool fully clothed. Luc sides with Nora when she talks about Cooper acting out and Sarah gets upset.

Sarah, Luc, Robert and Kevin are at the court for practice. Kevin doesn’t understand why Robert is so cool about not having a job and Robert tells him it’s because he knows he’ll figure it out (as in he is playing tennis for his new “employer!”). Sarah assumes Luc can’t play tennis and is taking over the court, angering him. Sarah is INTENSE! Robert finally decides to switch partners so he and Luc are together and KevRah are together again. Nora, meanwhile, is watching Cooper and Evan and Cooper is talking about Justin being in the war and saving his friend and what Justin did and how “cool” it was. All this over a game of checkers. Kevin returns from tennis to Scotty and Saul and they realize how relaxed Kevin is, thanks to some wine and the return of KevRah. Justin gets home to Rebecca, who tells him that the house was amazing and that she wants him to go see it because she put an offer in on it. Once again, they have one of their many fights because Rebecca doesn’t “get it” and Justin walks out.

KevRah are stretching before the match and even have their matching visors on. Sarah is worried about Cooper coming to the match but Kevin has faith in Nora’s parenting skills. Robert is late for the match because he is meeting the “cheating guy” at the bar (his name is Bill Stanton and Kevin knows who he is). Kevin sees this all go down and walks off with that “I’m really disappointed look in you” look on his face. Kevin confronts Robert about Bill and is not happy about it. Justin, Nora and Cooper are all watching the game and Cooper is acting out (like pretending to shoot Luc with an umbrella). Sarah sees and gets completely distracted. Cooper then takes tennis balls and throws them on to the court and when Sarah goes to parent him, Luc and Sarah fight over what to do. Oh yah, Cooper also hits Luc in the head with a ball. She finally is pushed beyond her limits and takes Cooper and leaves, forfeiting the game. Nora confronts Justin about him wanting to go back to the war and he says he doesn’t want to, he’s just trying to figure things out. But Nora keeps going on about how she’s seen him do this before and doesn’t like where it’s going.

Scotty comes home to find Kevin passed out on the couch. Kevin apologizes to Scotty for being immature and Scotty apologizes for ignoring him. They have a cute little talk about Kevin finding his purpose (queue “Avenue Q” music here…). Over at Sarah’s, Luc and Sarah talk to Cooper together about Luc being a member of the family. Cooper apologizes to Luc and Luc gives Sarah a “nicely done.” Luc tells Sarah that Cooper wasn’t the only one with issues and that she needs to deal with her issues as well. She finally opens up to him about her worries, especially of him breaking her kid’s hearts. I won’t go into long detail about what is said, but Luc doesn’t exist in real life. There is no way that sweet of a man is real! Robert goes to Nora’s to thank her for watching Evan and she asks him if Justin talked to him about going back to the war. Robert tries to make her understand what reenlisting is all about.

Kitty finally returns home to Robert and she can’t believe KevRah forfeited the match. They toast to Kitty getting the endorsements! Yay! Justin comes home and he wants to talk to Rebecca about what he’s thinking and feeling. He tells her that he doesn’t want to be a doctor anymore – it doesn’t feel right – but there’s one place he feels like he belongs. He says just because he feels it doesn’t mean he’s going to act on it. He also says he’s not happy, except for when he’s with her but that he needs something else besides her. Holy moly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Justin open up that much! Sarah finds Nora in the pantry, worrying. Nora tells her that “mothering never gets easier.” Sarah pulls her out of the pantry to show her Luc teaching Cooper karate, developing their own relationship.

Next week, Ojai foods closes! GASP! The family wants to save it – at all costs. Kevin has figured out Robert is doing something shady and confronts him. Dun dun dun.

I loved this episode. It had everything Walker-esque (except a family dinner). Laughter, drama, bonding. I loved the reality of Sarah and Luc’s world and how hard it was/is/will be and Sarah’s worries. As far as Justin and Rebecca go, they always have drama but I’m glad Justin is learning to open up quicker than three episodes. But now what is he going to do? He just got comfortable in med school (well, kinda). I would love to see the return of KevRah because man, that stuff on the court was hilarious! Next week should be dramatic so I’m glad we had some laughter this week. What do you think? Leave your two cents below!

I’m very annoyed about the Justin not happy in med school thing. I mean really at some point he needs to grow up and stick with something and see it all the way through. Yeah, med school sucks and I’m sure at some point all med students feel unhappy.

Luc is very sweet and I’m glad he’s there because if I’m not going to get to stare at Rob Lowe and his beautiful blue eyes, well Gilles is a great replacement!

I think for Justin – for the story – he doesn’t feel that he belongs anywhere except in the military. He says he feels at home with Rebecca but I don’t believe that either. It’ll make for some good story as long as they don’t drag it out.

I’m glad Luc is around and he is signed on for the entire next season so YAY! I loved watching him with Cooper at the end. It should be fun to see him help raising Paige next!

Glad I could give you good news. 🙂

@Karen: That’s a good idea! Remember when he helped that little boy from that accident?? He felt great that day. Maybe they’ll go that route.
