Because Oscar thinks Kevin sounds like Cookie Monster, he dubs Kevin’s voice over a video of Cookie Monster. Everyone loves it, even Angela.
Kevin is not amused. Dwight wants to make the video viral through the office.
Andy goes out of his way to make Secretary’s Day special for Erin. He called everyone to make sure they all bring her gifts and then he tells Michael to take Erin to lunch. Michael thinks Erin is a goober so he’s not very nice about it. When they’re driving to the restaurant, Michael asks if he can listen to books on tape but Erin wants to talk. At lunch, she talks and talks and talks. Michael thinks she’s weird. Hello Pot, meet Kettle. Michael and Erin talk about Andy and Michael tells her that Andy used to be engaged to Angela. Erin does not take the news well.
There’s a secretary’s day party in the conference room and Erin throws cake in Andy’s face and confronts him about Angela. Pam tries to make Erin feel better by telling her how she was engaged to another DM employee before Jim and that sometimes the heart doesn’t know what it wants until it finds what it wants. Erin is not moved and wishes Pam’s heart well on finding what it wants. Andy tells her all about his relationship with Angela but Erin breaks up with him saying she needs to be alone for awhile.
Today is Pam’s first day back after maternity leave. She misses the baby but says they need the money so she’s back. Pam gets uncomfortable during the day and is missing her breast pump. Meredith was warming it up for her in the bathroom.
Kevin goes to Gabe with the Cookie Monster thing. Gabe wants to use this to show the office that he’s an authority figure. People continue making fun of Kevin with the Cookie Monster thing and Pam, Jim , and Dwight get suspended without pay for two days by Gabe. Sabre Corporate tells Gabe that he has no authority to suspend anyone. Toby helpfully calls Pam and tells her the same, but Pam and Jim decide that they have bad attitudes and need to learn a lesson so they’ll be taking their two days off, thankyouverymuch.
Gabe tries to save face to the rest of the office by getting in on the Cookie Monster thing but Kevin turns the tables on him and does a pretty decent Gabe impression. Gabe is less than thrilled.
At the end of the episode, Michael apologizes to Erin for letting the beans spill. He makes Erin laugh while Andy watches and is glad someone made Erin happy on Secretary’s Day.
I’m kind of sad that Andy and Erin broke up. I liked them together. I hope the show isn’t trying to turn them into the next Jim and Pam because, just, no. Otherwise, I thought the episode was alright. The Meredith ganking the breast pump was amusing, as was Kevin’s inspired impression of Gabe. What’d you think? Leave a comment!
