Oh, a Renaissance Faire. Someone get me a turkey leg. There’re some knights and the Queen chooses a champion among them. The queen chooses Sir William who then has to fight the king’s personal knight. The king questions the queen’s choice and everyone is way into this.
So the knights go at it and the king’s knight starts kicking Sir William’s butt but then Sir Billy gets his second wind and wins the bout. William then gets some severe bloodshot eyes and collapses. The king whips out his cell phone and calls for an ambulance, as you do.
House is nakie in the kitchen, and unfortunately an open drawer obscures any view we might have gotten, darn it. Sam, Wilson’s new girlfriend who also happens to be his ex-wife catches House in the kitchen. Stupid girl has him put on an apron. Foolish, foolish woman. She wants House to forget she was even there.
House sends Hadley and Foreman to the Ren Faire to check for potential allergens while Chase and Taub run an MRI on William. They talk about playing dress up and fighting in armor but William ruins it all by puking in the MRI machine.
So, the “king” makes all the knights eat nasty stuff like cow eyeballs and sphincter a la “Fear Factor” so they think William has food poisoning. Then William gets skin issues and they think he has MSRA. Also, Foreman wasn’t wearing gloves when he last dealt with William. No one on this show ever wears gloves.
Hey, guess what, William is basically Lancelot in that the king is Arthur and the queen is Guinevere. We all know that story right? Lancelot is in love with Guinevere. Hadley suggest he tell Shannon (Guinevere) that he loves her. William is too stubborn/chicken to do so because King Miles is his friend.
Sam wants to get to know House better so Wilson asks House to come to dinner with him and Sam. House shows up with a transvestite prostitute named Sarah. House makes up for his juvenile behavior by making Wilson and Sam dinner at the apartment. Wilson gets up to go to the bathroom and House tells her that he doesn’t like her. He and Sam are at war behind Wilson’s back.
Something’s happening in William’s liver that’s definitely not cancer. Chase and Hadley go to check out William’s apartment and they find his secret witch chamber. They come up with lead poisoning but that’s not it. House and Hadley go back to the Ren Faire in costume. This was just an excuse to get Olivia Wilde in a corset and Hugh Laurie in some Black Adder gear. They check out the apothecary’s shop and find out that he sold hemlock to the king. Miles denies he was poisoning William. The hemlock treatment didn’t work so it’s not that that’s killing him.
House has Lucas check up on Sam. Sam comes in and asks House to give her and Wilson a chance. As she leaves, House epiphanies that William is on steroids.
Hadley calls William an idiot for not going after Shannon. He believes she’ll have a better life with Miles than with him, even if it means he’s unhappy.
Not a terrible episode, not especially exciting either. I’m a little uninterested in what’s happening with Wilson and Sam, but I’ve seen dumber on this show. I do like that they’re giving Hadley a little more life that she had before and not making it all about her Huntington’s. I’m still mad about that drawer at the top of the episode, though. Leave a comment and let me know what you thought!

This episode was ok-ok.. not too great.. i’m glad they’re finally moving away from the foreteen drama.. but kind of worried cuz now they seem to be building a thirteen-chase arc..
