A bitty baby is born. Aww! Then the baby goes missing. Cuddy locks down the hospital since they determine that the baby is still inside because the microchip in the baby’s hospital bracelet would set off an alarm if the baby was taken out of an exit. Uh, what if they just cut the bracelet off before taking the baby? Why do I have to think of these things?
Cameron shows up with an ominous brown envelope. Chase and Cameron have an awkward and tense conversation and of course Cameron is stuck in the hospital because of the lockdown. This forces Cameron and Chase to discuss their marriage and with happened with Dibala. Chase asks Cameron if she ever really loved him and she breaks down and says she doesn’t know. Chase signs the divorce papers. They dance in the biggest exam room I’ve ever seen. Then they have sex on the exam table. Hot diggety.
Hadley and Wilson are stuck in the cafeteria together, playing truth or dare. They play and Hadley dares him to steal a dollar from the register. He gets caught, of course. She talks Wilson into asking out his ex wife.
Taub and Foreman are stuck in the confidential file room. They decide to snoop on House. Foreman and Taub take some Vicodin in order to live in House’s shoes. Real smart, guys. They get loopy and punch each other. Turns out Foreman came down to destroy a record out of his file. They look through their files and talk about regrets.
House is in a patient room. The patient recognizes him. Apparently, he sent House a letter asking him to take his case but now the guy is dying of heart failure. House offers to unlock the drip so that the guy can go into a drug induced coma and die in his sleep. He declines. The man thinks that a woman broke House’s heart and that’s why he’s always in pain. House talks about Franka. Dying man wants to call his daughter in Atlanta at 9, except that he waits until then to call because he knows she won’t be home so he can hear her voice on her machine. House makes him leave a message on her machine and then dying guy takes House up on his offer of meds.
Cuddy deals with the missing baby’s mother and notices there are extra towels. She thinks that the housekeeping staffer that’s having a seizure (the blanking out kind, not the thrashing kind) might have taken the baby. Cuddy and a nurse go looking down in housekeeping headquarters. This baby better not be dead. Oh, thank goodness, the baby is fine and resting in a hospital laundry cart and then returned to her mother.
Most boring episode ever. Are there no others on the housekeeping staff that could have heard a crying baby? I hardly believe a newborn would lie quiet in a bin for hours with no food and that no one would be around to hear it. It really just makes no sense. Pretty poor showing for a first episode back though I did enjoy Riki Lindhome of Garfunkel and Oates as the new mother. What’d you think? Leave a comment!
