It is elimination night once again. Immediately we find out that Chad and Cheryl and Jake and Chelsie don’t have to sweat it out for the hour. They are safe and will return to dance next week. So, who does that leave in the bottom two and who’s going home?
The encore performance of the evening goes to Pam and Damian’s Rumba. I thought it should have been Evan and Anna, but maybe they didn’t want to give them the encore two weeks in a row.
Filler for the night included musical guest Sade – performing two numbers while our pros danced. The Macy’s Stars of Dance was a principal ballerina from the New York City Ballet performing as Nothing But Stringz played. We were also treated to some great videos of our pros dancing as little kids and young competitors. This led into a performance by a group of talented young dancers billed as the “future of ballroom.” Who knows, maybe we’ll see them as DWTS pros someday.
Next week’s dancing gimmick is “Movie Night.” The stars will be performing to “iconic songs from movies.” I hope someday does the theme from Star Wars! And is it just me, or are there lots of gimmicks already this season? Are the producers that worried about ratings that they’re trying to find different ways to bring in audience? How about just getting some stars we’ve heard of?
Throughout all the filler we find out that Evan, Pam, Erin, Nicole, and Kate are all safe. That leaves Niecy and Aiden left standing, but according to Tom Bergeron that didn’t necessarily mean that one not going home was in the bottom two. I hate when they do that – I like knowing who’s at the bottom. Cue scary music … Aiden is eliminated.
I expected Aiden to go home this week – soap stars are notoriously eliminated early. I guess they don’t have enough of an audience to vote for them. He obviously wasn’t the best dancer, and he wasn’t going to win, but he was so charming, and face it, easy on the eyes! He did have a bit of a setback this week, not improving as much as some of the other stars, but I’m still sad to see him go. So what do you think of the results? Was it Aiden’s time, or should someone else have gone home? Leave me your two cents!

As soon as Jake was safe, I had a feeling it was going to be Aiden. It’s a shame. He was so adorable.
He was adorable. I was bummed – especially since they left Kate hanging for so long, I thought maybe just maybe she would be going home. Oh well…
