In the show’s 100th episode we cover just how Booth and Bones meet. They have read Sweets book and feel the need to tell them that he has made a few mistakes. One, being that what he thinks is their first case, actually is not.
So they sit down with Sweets and tell him how they met and their first case. This upsets Sweets because his whole theory about them being in love is based on the first case and now it just makes his book…well…as Sweets says…crap!
How they meet:
Booth gets a case with some remains that are found and talks to Cam. She suggests that he get another opinion from someone she knows to be very good at her job. She also acknowledges his gambling problem. As Booth enters a lecture hall, he sees our very own Temperance Brennen giving a speech. He introduces himself and you see a bit of a spark between them. She agrees to help him and he asks if she believes in fate..she says absolutely not.
Booth gives Temp the remains and decides not to tell her anymore info just to see what she can come up with…you know, a bit of a test. Temp and Zach examine the remains while Hodgins enters the scene. Hodgins gets very excited when he learns that they are working on a murder case. Hodgins is very snippety with Zach and they don’t get along. Zach hears that Hodgins just need to get laid, haha.
Next, Temp finds Angela in a park doing caricatures of people. They had only met about 2 months prior at an art exhibit, but Temp knows she is good and asks for her help. Angela of course, is a bit freaked out over looking at a skull. Temp tells her she will pay her, so of course Angela takes the job.
Next thing you know, Temp tells Booth what she knows of the victim..the age, sex, cause of death and where she is from. Booth is impressed and shows her a picture of the victim. She realizes that she was being tested and passed full of color…I mean flying colors. Booth tells her that a judge did it and wants her to prove it. She tells him she needs facts first and then can arrest him. You can tell Booth has no idea how to take Temp, because of the way she talks and acts. He nicknames her Bones, so she calls him Shoes (because they’re shiny)
Hodgins and Zach do not get along, but Bones decides to have them do an experiment together. (one that involves Hodgins swinging a bat at Zach)
They talk about their personal lives and if they are seeing anyone. You can tell she is interested in him , but he tells her that he can’t date other agents or consultants. She tells him “too bad”.
When Booth and Bones confront the judge, she becomes angry with the judge and punches him..not once, but twice! Booth loves it, been wanting to do that himself. But this causes Booths boss to fire her.
While at a bar, Booth and Bones are doing shots of Tequila. Booth declares individuality and that he is going rogue by showing his tie has a girl on the underside. He tells her that she is fired. She is bummed but she is more concerned that if she is no longer working with him, then is it ok for them to have sex? He likes her more and more. They leave and he kisses her. But she jumps in a cab and leaves.
In the morning, Bones has a hangover. The Squints figure out the Judge murdered the victim. Zach takes the evidence to Booth, who then shows it to his boss. She hires the Jeffersonian back.
He tells her she is hired back and they go to look at the judges car for evidence. She argues with him and thinks he got her drunk just to have sex with her. The forensic team can’t find anything on the car. She finally says she wants to look at it and that she is smarter than any of his team. She finds the evidence and leaves. Booth is stunned and angry. She tells him he is a bully and hates him.
They don’t work together again, until a year later (that would be where the show starts for us)
** In Sweets office**
Sweets is freaking out over all this information. He tells Booth to take the gamble and tell her how he feels, but Booth plays it off and asks her to get something to eat. Outside, he stops and tells her he is going to gamble. He wants her take a chance with him. She can’t open her heart to anyone. Booth practically begs her. I mean this is the most heart wrenching scene ever. He is telling her how much he wants her and she is rejecting him. When she says she can’t, he tells her that he must move on then, to someone who can. Bones still wants to work with him and agrees to even though it will be hard.
Well, what did you think of episode 100? Did you like the ending? Were you wanting her to confess her love? I for one, was glad Booth finally got it off his chest.

We all know she is in love with him. They will be together eventually. It just has to be the right timing. It’s going to be great to watch though!! I absolutely adore this show!! It was funny to see how the whole gang got together. It was great to see Zach back too. I hated when he went bad. That really sucked. I am so glad that I can see Boothe when I look at David and not always Angel. David directed this ep too. What a great 100th!! Here’s to another hundred!! 🙂
Thanks for visitig! I was happy to see Zach too. I just feel, it’s been 4 yrs & he finally tells her, let’s just hope she gets thru her emotional wall
I have started watching bones this year, and sadly missed this episode! Now I am stuck waiting until October for the dvd release! Can’t wait to see it! thanks for the synopsis!
The kiss was not emotional enough! This episode did not do much for me as they have strung the audience along for FIVE years to this point and this was all we got?!!! I expect them to eventually get together and when they do I expect more PASSION and SPARKS.
