It has taken awhile, but at long last all is right in Buymoria. Chuck is a real spy. Casey returns to the fold, with Morgan in tow. Superman is dead. Chuck and Sarah hook up. Read on, Macduff.
When we left off last week, Superman had taken off with Sarah to “settle an old score.” This week, we pick up right where we left off. Superman has brought Sarah to a warehouse supposedly being used by the Ring. Over at the Spy More, Chuck is looking for Casey as he deals with Morgan’s repeated requests to join Team Bartowski. Chuck finds Casey and tells him about the red test involving Sarah and Shaw’s wife. Just then, Sarah’s distress alarm sends a single to Chuck’s iPhone and Chuck begs Casey for help. Casey tells Chuck how to call in a tactical team.
Back at the warehouse, Sarah finds the video of her red test being played in a room full of monitors. While she watches the worst day of her life unfolding on the screen, Superman approaches from behind with his gun drawn. Outside, Chuck and his team (including a tank and stealth bombers which are mentioned but unseen) arrive. Inside, Shaw tells Sarah that the woman in the video is his wife, but he knows that it wasn’t Sarah’s fault.
Superman and Sarah hug just as Chuck bursts into the room with his team.
Back at Castle, General Grandma reads Chuck the riot act about his tactical team. She’s certain now that Chuck isn’t ready to go to Paris and be a spy on his own. Shaw tried to defend Chuck, but General Grandma is having none of it. She orders Shaw and Sarah to come to Washington and head up the Ring taskforce and advises Chuck to sit tight in Burbank until she can decide what to do with him.
Morgan, certain he’s going to part of Team Bartowski now, quits his job. Big Mike is proud of him for chasing his dreams. Outside his office, Jeff and Lester see Morgan quitting and decide to bring Casey into their circle.
Back home, Chuck calls General Grandma and explains that he doesn’t think Superman can act in a professional manner knowing that Sarah killed his wife. Grandma says that Superman is the ideal agent and Chuck could learn a thing or two about how to act like a real agent from him.
Morgan cleans out his locker and Casey tells him he doubts that General Grandma will let him be part of Team Bartowski. She doesn’t forget a little thing like treason. Morgan tells Casey to enjoy his old life at the Spy More and Casey tells Morgan to enjoy his old life with Chuck.
Chuck gets drunk, lamenting that he and Sarah will never be together. Morgan shows up and tries to talk him down, but Chuck flashes and Morgan ends up tied up on the floor with a bunch of video game cords. Sarah comes in and frees him and sits down to talk to Chuck. Chuck asks Sarah pointblank if she loves him. She says yes and the two kiss. Sarah tells him that she knows Casey killed the mole and that Chuck is still “her” Chuck – the Chuck she fell in love with. Sarah tells Morgan the get Chuck ready because they have a mission. Superman has found the Ring headquarters.
At the Ring headquarters, Chuck and Sarah descend an elevator shaft while Superman covers them from above and works on the electronics to get the elevator car moving.
Chuck shares his suspicions with Sarah about Shaw not being up for the job and his ideas are punctuated by a couple of bullets being fired down the elevator shaft, but Superman apologizes he was just fighting off a couple of Ring goons. Chuck draws his (tranquilizer) gun and they await Superman activating the elevator. Just then Superman get’s the car working and the Ring director enters the car where Sarah and Chuck get the drop on him. He tells the spies that they may have him, but they’ll never get the Cypher. Chuck and Sarah don’t know what he’s talking about but Superman informs them that the Ring has been working on their own Intersect. They make the director use his Ring phone to call his assistant and bring the Cypher to him in the elevator. They grab the assistant also and a janitor who happened into the elevator as well. It’s turns into Quentin Tarantino-esque standoff when the director informs them that it was all a trap. The janitor, the assistant and director all draw their guns as the elevator door opens to reveal some more armed Ring thugs outside. Superman shows up and saves the day, taking out all the Ring agents. He sends Chuck and Sarah to the upper floor with the Cypher and is alone in the elevator with the director. A shot rings out. Sarah and Chuck run off noting that they’d better wait to tell Superman about the two of them being together.
Inside the elevator, the director, the janitor and the assistant all jump up removing their blood spatter packets. It was all a setup. Unbeknownst to Chuck and Sarah, Superman has been working with the Ring all along.
Back at Castle, General Grandma is upset that Superman killed the ring director. Chuck comes to his defense this time and Grandma relents. She tells them that the Cypher was analyzed and that the Ring is not near creating an Intersect of their own. Also on the Cypher was information leading to a facility in Paris where the Ring Intersect might be in the manufacturing stages. Grandma wants Superman and Sarah to check it out.
Back home, Morgan is worried that alone time in Paris will allow Superman to win Sarah back, but Chuck defends Sup again and shows Morgan the video of Superman swooping in to save the day and take out all the Ring agents. Morgan, now with his keen spy senses sees that Superman pulled his punches and shows Chuck how the fight was an elaborate hoax.
Chuck and Morgan head to Castle to call General Grandma and inform her of the situation, but she’s doesn’t believe Chuck and Morgan steps into the frame to explain and she really flips out when she sees him inside Castle. She suspends Chuck and orders the two to leave Castle immediately.
Chuck and Morgan grab Casey and they head to Paris to save the day. Aboard the flight, Chuck tries to flash on Superman, but doesn’t get much useful information.
In Parish, Superman has taken Sarah to the exact location of her red test. She sees the place where she began her spy career and instantly knows something is wrong. She draws her weapon. Superman tells her that she killed his wife and he wasn’t going to let her get away with it. Sarah is hit with a tranquilizer dart and drops her weapon. The very-much-alive Ring director steps into frame and picks up her gun. They take then now immobilized Sarah to an outdoor café and the director explains that Superman is going to avenge his wife’s death by not only killer her, but also destroying the CIA from the inside.
Superman sends the Ring director away with the government analysis of the Cypher and enough data to properly built their own Intersect. Just as Shaw is about to kill Sarah, Chuck shows up. He tries to arrest Superman and we hear Casey, off camera, taking on the Ring director. Superman taunts Chuck and says he’ll never be able to pull the trigger. Superman attacks Chuck and knocks the gun from his hand before landing a blow than sends Chuck to the ground. He grabs Sarah and starts to push her over a bridge. Chuck recovers and grabbing his weapon, begs Superman to reconsider because he doesn’t want to shoot him. Superman draws, but Chuck is faster and fires three shots directly into Superman’s chest sending him over the edge of the bridge. He holds on, ala Hans Gruber to Sarah, but Chuck grabs her and pulls her back as Superman falls, dead, into the water.
Later, Casey makes a video call to General Grandma. She doesn’t want to talk to the ex-spy, but Casey pulls the Ring director into frame and thinks maybe Grandma might want to talk to him. Casey leverages the director for his old job back, Morgan to join the spy team and a new Crown Victoria.
Sarah wakes up in a Paris hotel room. Chuck explains what happened and the news about how he killed Superman. Thereby passing his red test aftertall. Sarah realizes that Chuck saved her. General Grandma calls to tell them to get back to Burbank, but they ignore her and the two kiss and pull the covers over themselves as the camera pulls out to reveal the Eiffel Tower.
This was supposed to be the season finale before NBC ordered six more episodes. So a lot of what they’ve been setting up all season was paid off in this episode. Chuck and Sarah are together at last. Casey is back on the job and Superman is dead. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what the next six episodes have in store. There’s a short three week hiatus before new episodes return and from the previews it looks like some exciting stuff is on the way including the return of Anna Wu (yay!) and the training of Morgan by agent Casey. There’s probably still some stuff with Ellie and Awesome to clear up before the season ends. Are they going to Africa? What do you think is going to happen? Will this season be the last for Team Bartowski? Are you overjoyed that Chuck and Sarah are finally together? Are you glad Superman is dead? Please leave your comments, thoughts and questions in the comments section
Remember, Chuck returns on April 27th, so be sure to stay tuned to http://www.thetwocents.com for all your favorite show recaps and reviews.

Man this was a great episode. I just wonder if Shaw is really dead. I mean, I hope he is, but you never know.
*possible spoilers*
Ausiello said that in one of many shows he reviews, a season finale will contain a shocking pregnancy. Chuck is a possibility. do you think it’s sarah ? maybe she and chuck or shaw had a kid. or maybe that’s why anna returned ?ellie ? so many possibilities!
