It’s happy hour! The Scranton Dunder-Mifflin/Sabre branch is going out for a fun trip to pseudo Dave & Buster’s. Michael blows a blind date but gets another on the rebound. Also, Pam! Let’s get to it, shall we?
(Don’t forget to check out what other Office Fan-Sites are saying about this episode in our The Office Conference Room!)
Oscar gets to work early to ask Matt from the warehouse out. Matt asks Oscar to let him know if hears about anything going on. Oscar suggests to Darryl that they have happy hour with the office staff and the warehouse staff.
Jim uses the baby as an excuse for why he can’t go so he calls Pam to tell her that he’s not going and Pam is all about going to happy hour! I can totally understand that. Pam brings her friend Julie to meet up with Michael. Also, Julie laughs at everything. So Michael will fall in love of course.
Isabel shows up to happy hour and breaks up Dwight and Angela’s conversation. Dwight has decided that Isabel has the advantage in every department except the legal department. Dwight tries to break up with Angela. She throws the contract up in Dwight’s face and Isabel thwacks Angela on the head. Dwight is both impressed and turned on.
Michael is hitting it off with Julie so now he knows he’s on a date and turns into Date Mike who is a total d-bag and almost gets thrown out of pseudo Dave & Buster’s. He goes to tell off the manager and they hit it off. Julie is not impressed by Date Mike and leaves.
Andy and Erin want to keep their relationship under wraps but secretly everyone knows. Andy suggests that they break off and flirt with other people. Andy gets jealous when Erin does as told. He takes her into a photo booth where they argue. The photos show him a relationship he doesn’t want so he gets on the intercom and proclaims aloud that he and Erin are dating. Aww.
Funniest part of the episode is the closer with Darryl and his new hire from Japan. The guy tells a story about how he was a surgeon in Japan and he accidentally killed a Yakuza boss. He hid in a fishing boat that was headed for America. When he got here he had no food or money and spoke no English. Darryl gave him a job and saved his life. The big secret? He killed the Yakuza boss on purpose and he’s really a great surgeon. The delivery and the look on Craig Robinson’s face were priceless.
I’m not sure what is a good episode anymore. I feel like Michael has crossed from clueless and socially challenged straight over into stupid. I can’t understand why the manager of the happy hour venue would be into him. He’s got a Kangol hat on his head, fer cryin out loud! Anyway, I feel like this wasn’t the worst episode I’ve seen, but it’s certainly not the best. It was just…an episode. Do you know what I mean? Let me know what you thought.

Kevin throughout the episode was funny. Seems The Office isn’t MUST WATCH TV anymore, but it’s still fun to watch TV to me. 🙂
I didn’t the Kevin parts were funny. I don’t know, the only part that made me actually laugh was the ending with Darryl. Maybe I’m just a tough audience. Who knows?
The think with Kevin – it wasn’t his antics that were funny to me – it was his reaction when they didn’t or eventually kinda worked.
