It’s that time of week again my friends. Time to sit around the camp fire, put some s’mores on and watch our friends at the Pawnee Parks And Recreation Department.
What does this week bring us? A summer catalog apparently – let’s watch and find out shall we? At the end of this recap, one show moment will be voted off the island.
Things you need to know about this week’s show.
1. Ron Swanson can pull off wearing a raccoon-skinned cap. Tom cannot.
2. Shirley has the BEST pick-up lines. “I’m a hunter, and it’s YOU season.” Ok, I had to pause the show cause I was giggling, I’m back now though. It’s ok.
3. What catalog does the Park & Rec Dept make? A parks events catalog. What goes into it? Photos of creepy men playing softball.
4. Awesome line #2 of the show – “Can you photoshop your life with better decisions Jerry?” – April. HAHAHA.
5. The best 6-month anniversary present? A chicken salad sandwich. Courtesy of Mark. What did Ann get him? Swiss Army watch. She totally beats him.
6. April played softball in highschool and Andy played baseball in highschool. Is there anything they don’t have in common?
7. Tom’s name for Mark and Ann? Annbranowitz. Nice.
8. NO WAY!! Alex P. Keaton’s Father is in this one!!! YES! I think he’s safe from being voted off.
9. Leslie has brought all the former Parks Directors on a picnic. Probems arise – after all this IS a sitcom. Mostly they are ancient and ready to pass away from the long hike, and Ron is hungry.
10. Former directors: One hates women, one hates parks, one is a pot-head on parole and one is Ron Effin Swanson. Ron wins.
11. April FINALLY gets Andy to take her to bar – but she’s 20. So… yeah, the ID doesn’t work. Andy decides to go home instead of find another bar and thus April is heart-broken. Sadness.
12. Best line: Leslie: “Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food?” Ron: “People are idiots Leslie.”
Again, not nearly enough Jerry or Shirley. But a pretty strong episode. What do you guys think? Share your TwoCents below. I’m off to go get an omelet and some home fries.
OH – voted off the Pawnee Island? The former Parks Directors – all of them. Even Alex P. Keaton’s Dad. The tribe has spoken.

Yeah, the romantic problems for “Annbranowiitz” and April and Andy are starting to ramp up. I felt really bad for poor April. She’s got it bad for Andy and her face when he bailed on finding another bar was heartbreaking. But why DID Andy bail? Is April too young in his mind? Is anything in Andy’s mind? But there did seem to be something holding him back. Well, he has a girl that is really in love with him; check out the look on April’s face in that catalog picture. Don’t drop this ball, Andy!
Now we come to Ann and Mark. Boy, Ann is really not head over heels, is she? When she explained in “Galentine’s Day” that things were “fine” there was a chill. But now, Mark seems to be getting an idea that maybe Ann isn’t as happy as he would hope she would be. Problems coming.
So yep, there will be some cringe-inducing moments soon. Grim. Embarrassing. And I can’t wait to see them!!
I really liked this episode. It was a good episode to leave us with since we had to wait like 3 weeks for a new one. On to the show..I really like Andy and I hope him and Ann get together but that was kind of douch-y move by him to just bail on April and not even walk her home if he doesn’t want to go to the bar with her anymore. It was kind of harsh but I guess it is Andy..he doesn’t really think too much before he does anything.
And yeah the Ann and Mark relationship (if that’s what you wanna call it) is a disaster. Just my opinion but the two actors have no chemistry and they are SO BORING as a couple. I think Leslie and Mark had more chemistry between them and they weren’t even meant to get together. And of course the whole park adventure was hilarious. I loved the old guy that kept talking about Leslie’s menstruation cycles and my favorite..”I just whizzed on a butterfly”. Horrible but hilarious. I loved at the end when they had to take the picture and Leslie’s like “Try not to look so evil.” Perfect.
Haha I meant I hope Andy and April get together. Whoopsie.
